Something you need to also consider is forming a NETWORK of people you know and can work together with when things start breaking down. Everybody doesn't have the same skillset, so knowing people who can do different things will be extremely helpful... knowing someone that knows how to hunt, knowing an electrician, etc.

You also want to have a couple of firearms on hand just to protect yourself and your family or even to hunt with.

What I learned from stocking up last year when the Corona Virus hit is that even if the disaster doesn't last long in your area, you just have a bunch of stuff you're already going to use anyways, so that just means less trips to the store... but if things DO get serious, you can cruise through it while everyone else is scrambling. If you don't get it while it's available and cheap, you WILL pay exorbitant prices later when you actually need this stuff. When things cool down here and everyone starts thinking it's going back to normal and prices start cooling down I'm going to really go hard on stocking up.

When everything runs out, then it will be purely up to your faith in Jesus. You obviously can't prepare 100%, but having some of the more important essentials on hand is doable. I find it hard to believe that most people can't at least do some preparing when PS5s and the latest Xboxes are sold out everywhere. 40 packs of water are like 2.99 or 3.99 at Costco... probably 5 bucks at walmart. Every paycheck, people can stock up on water and things like rice and beans. Sure, you won't have enough supplies to last forever, but you have a lot bigger buffer than someone who has nothing and is in panic mode when crisis hits.
