I always wonder how they get recruits.like what would make Demayrius Thomas and Calvin Johnson go there?

It's been mentioned but both Calvin and DT were recruited by Chan Gailey. Demaryius was actually gonna transfer when CPJ arrived but stayed (which worked out well for him). Also, DT wasn't some big name recruit, he had a college glow up. Calvin on the other hand was choosing between us and UGA at one point. That might be our biggest recruiting victory in the past 20 years.

But he's got the experience needed to coach at an institution requiring a tough academic schedule. He recruits in ATL a lot as well. He would be perfect

The academic environments at Tech and Stanford are no where near the same. He's got his dream job right now.

He's not going to get the salary for himself and top assistants to coach here. Also he's going to be behind the 8 ball in facilities, local interest, I can't understand why an established elite coach without ties to Tech would go there to coach

Last year they had a 310 lb. DT majoring in fashion.

The fact that CPJ complained for years about your outdated facilities or the fact that you have been unable to spend the money on facilities and coaches necessary to compete at an elite level? Y'all certainly don't have the enthusiasm from the fanbase to raise money from boosters...Tech fans/alumni are generally when it comes to the AD and football but now I'm supposed to believe that y'all are all in to win at any cost, no matter the price? Another problem is even if we had money to create a massive football or basketball training complex, where the fukk we gonna build it? Our school is smack dab in the middle of downtown Atlanta, not in a cow town like most SEC schools. You think they gonna tear down high rise condos and restaurants to build training facilities?

They gonna build a training center on top of 75/85?
