UGA has never had a QB is dynamic as Joe Hamilton

UGA has never had a WR as dynamic as Megatron.

The Paul Johnson era erased those type of players for a whole generation of recruits.

Hopefully a new coach can adjust the balance of power in the state. I’m not naive, Tech will always be the “Little Brother” to UGA for various reasons. But depending on who the new hire is, things can get more competitive.
College football is drastically different than when those two guys played. The have and the have nots are far more separated.

Let’s be reality Tech finding a solid coach is reasonable but finding someone that’s going to make them a national threat is a big task.

Not a UGA fan but A.J. Green was better in HS and college than Megatron was. Maybe you simply forgot about him. Probably the best WR in SEC history.

Justin Fields looks plenty dynamic too me. He looks a lot more talented than Joe was

Every major school in the SEC/ACC competes Georgia hard and even at its peak GT was never and will never be a major threat to compete with the top 4 & 5 star recruits with UGA. You act like GT made an active decision to stop recruiting top athletes when they hired CPJ...they got athletes who fit the school and those are 2 & 3 stars. Tech can recruit better but you're insane if you think Tech is gonna recruit against UGA for athletes now that they have a new coach
GT was always a national recruitment school. It was never a local recruitment school. What messed up GT was the type of kids who would go to GT that go to Stanford and ND plays in a completely different HS offense.

That’s inaccurate. GT was in our life times never going nationally to get big time recruits consistently.

When I used to be a Tech fan, they would recruit nationally under Gailey. How the hell you think we got Californians like Roman Reigns

It was never the highest level of recruits because the recruiting budget is trash.

Honestly, GT could be a title contender. There are a lot of talented and smart athletes now. This ain't the early 2000s where everyone Black wanted to be Jigga or act like a NBA nikka. A lot of these kids want to go to top tier academic schools.

Most want to work in corporate America and not being an assistant coach at waterboy HS

That’s not the true definition of recruiting nationally . Come on mang.

Y’all really have to stop talking about the glory days of these program. If the school isn’t committed to cutting checks then sustained success is far from certain and even if they are the coach better the right hire.

Are you trolling right now? :dwillhuh:

GT is a 7-5, 8-4 type program. They aren't a national threat recruiting and never have been. Tech also isn't a national title type of program either. Tech's best hope is to be a team that can compete to win its division, maybe make an ACC title game every few years and see what happens

:mjlol: at UGA being nervous about ANYTHING Tech is doing with its athletic program GTFOH

Yep. This may be hard for Tech fans to understand but UGA isn't their biggest concern. It's fan apathy. No one cares about Tech football. Attendance at Bobby Dodd was its lowest since 2001, GT gets blown out by us in a "rivalry game" in back to back years and @Rekkapryde @Mr Hate Coffee @The_Sheff and the collective reaction is :manny: That's a problem

Before Tech fans have all these visions of national titles and top 10 recruiting classes, they need to consistently care about the program and the state of the program. It's been in steady decline since 2013 and it's about to get worse

That's my over arching point and it has nothing to do with me being a UGA fan.. You got some people acting like being a consistent CFP threat is some light switch you can just flip on. No, no, no.

People talking about they are nationally recruiting because they pulled a no name DL from California. No No, No

Right. There's a commitment to football that Tech administrators, alumni, coaches and fans have to be aligned on. Nothing I've seen makes me believe that that will happen
