School won't allow the talent to come. Curriculum is too tough and if I was an athlete I wouldn't fukk with it.

I'm an alumnus.

Got a friend who went to GTech who said the same thing. He told me his sister got rejected with a 2300/2400 on the SAT :wow:

You guys along with Vandy are probably the toughest academic schools for athletes in the south. I almost went to Georgia Tech since I'm an engineer, but the out of state tuition was insane especially since I had a scholarship to Florida.

What nonsense are you referring to? The fact that CPJ complained for years about your outdated facilities or the fact that you have been unable to spend the money on facilities and coaches necessary to compete at an elite level? Y'all certainly don't have the enthusiasm from the fanbase to raise money from boosters...Tech fans/alumni are generally :manny: when it comes to the AD and football but now I'm supposed to believe that y'all are all in to win at any cost, no matter the price? No that's not the case breh

I'm not a fan of CPJ but he was a great coach for Tech. It's going to be much harder than y'all think to replace him

Kinda agree. :yeshrug:

I had no problems with CPJ, but in this day and age you gotta cater to what the kids wanna do. It is what it is. Most don't wanna play in the triple option. You found studs here and there, but recruiting for the offense and the school are hard. He did a decent job. :yeshrug:

If the new coach comes in AND they win, the money will come from the casual fans. The hardcore AA boosters and cacs are gonna give no matter what and most of them have long paper (as evidenced by Hank McCamish just cutting a huge check to pay for a large chunk of the basketball arena renovation). These old Tech cacs with paper do not care. Just talking to some of them sometimes is like :dahell: . They love Ma Tech.

At least now with a new coach you should be able to attract more recruits with a potentially better offensive system. But I don't expect some HUGE changes just due to the biggest roadblocks being Tech Tower and the Board of Regents. Both will never open up to add more degree programs that are athlete friendly for the major sports of football and hoops. And that Calc requirement ain't going nowhere. But if we can expand our recruiting footprint and pluck a couple more cats, that'd be dope. We'll never beat the mutts on a consistent basis, but win every few years at least. At least CPJ did that.

When I took the SAT back in the mid 90s it was only verbal and math sections, no essay :flabbynsick: .

sidenote: ....my man Amin Elhassan actually scored a perfect SAT. Perfect 1600 at the time (tru story).

Anyway, I had to get the Navy to pay for my shyt being out of state from SC, but still fukked that up and had to pay them back. :francis:

at least I got out with my degree. :whew:

But even Vandy has athlete friendly and liberal arts majors with no calc requirement.

Between this news and GSU becoming a dark horse option, them folks in Athens should start getting nervous.

Same here. I think they introduced the essay a few years after I took it. Florida has a scholarship set up with the lottery to keep kids instate where they pay for either 75% or 100% of your tuition based on SAT/ACT scores, GPA and community service. But the only really good academic schools in Florida are UF and Miami. I grew up outside of Gainesville, so it was a no brainer for me.

What's the athlete major at GTech?

Why would Kirby and UGA be nervous about what's happening on the Flats? Do you see what Kirby has been doin in Athens the last couple years? :dwillhuh:

I just took that post as an uneducated dap post. GSU as a dark horse candidate? State (not Southern) is garbage...ironically Kennesaw State, which is one of the better teams in D-1AA, is probably gonna be D1 at some point. They're legitimately gonna be a threat for recruits for Tech too
