He did it his way and had success doing it at every level: GA Southern, Navy, and GA Tech.

Tech is irrelevant in Atlanta. Dawgs run Atlanta and any other flagship SEC/ACC school has a bigger presence than Tech does in its own city. They aren't willing to spend to compete at the level needed to be a true threat in the ACC...bullshyt offense aside, Paul Johnson is the best coach Tech could ever have hoped for, its gonna be hard to find a coach better than Paul Johnson for them and I despise both him and Tech

BTW Tech is going to be awful next year

Us not getting recruits has nothing to do with money. It's about academics. Coaches have to beg and plead to get waivers for kids who actually are willing to come here.

Academic exceptions. Basically letting in nikkaz that wouldn't normally get in. We don't offer basket weaving so nikkaz gotta be able to stay eligible. The exceptions let them recruit cats that wouldn't have a prayer of being admitted even for athlete standards.

This. What happened to everyone being the business major like they used to do to the athletes.

Also, I had some cousins who when there and ended up becoming sound professionals after finishing up their playing careers at Tech.

Just do the math on Shaw alone. He makes double in compensation than CPJ now all of the sudden Tech has enough cash to lure him from Stanford and increase assistant salaries and facilities. Please......

You think you're the only one who knows someone involved with the AA at Tech

The point of bringing up the endowment money is to let you know that we have the means and ability to gather any money if we really wanted to.

We supposedly didn't have the money when we expanded BDS (dunno why but whatever)
We supoosedly didn't have the money to completely renovate Alexander Memorial into McCamish Pavillion either

As far as Shaw, why the fukk would he leave his alma mater where he doesn't have ridiculous expectations and problems getting players because of the administration/degree offerings? Anyone mentioning Shaw is on crack.
