the prequels have a more complicated plot, poorly executed, but it perfectly mirror what has happened in America with the singing of the patriot

the problem with lucas is he's just old, and so is star wars, if the original came out for the first time in 1999, people would have said what is this bullshyt, because the world is different from the 70s

people getting hype over a little trailer that showed nothing but everything already seen in the original trailer
if it's 30 years later, why are still flying x-wings, if they made a top gun secretly them nikkaz won't be flying them tomcats

the villains are already dumb, if they were more creative than lucas why do they have to rehash the sith when they already lost, why not make up new villains

how stupid is it for a guy to be collecting artifacts than darth vader's helmet when luke burned his entire suit at the end of the ROTJ

at least when this movie sucks lucas won't be to blame and people will finally realize star wars and star trek need to be left in the past

it's obvious they wanna go the star trek, modern way of making movies.... a lot of flash and effects and money... a lot of fighting and shootouts... a couple more adult themes... but juuuuuuuuuuust campy enough to be pg-13

they getting away from the kids movie stuff.. and i think going on with more of a "gritty" looking star wars.

depending on how this goes, i'd prefer the gritty version

I think he's done better on TV and yes he was a screenwriter 1st before he as a director. I was confident in JJ doing this cause we were all told he was following Lucas's outlines for the story Post-Jedi. Now someone just "Made It Up". That's weak. As I said, we already got 30 years of comics, video games and books of people just "Making it up". Lucas gave them outlines for Episodes 7,8,9. They should of followed them. Disney don't know sh!t about Star Wars. The only saving grace is Abrams is a die hard fan and it was co-written by Lawerence Kasden who co-wrote "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi". I feel he's there to make sure Lucas core story stays in it. Disney is nothing but a corporation. What the hell do they know about "Star Wars" Story. I loved the Teaser but now that i know the truth, I see exactly what Disney is doing. They are doing an "Original trilogy" REHASH. It's clear as day.

No we are only getting some of Lucas outlines not all. They changed some things. I'm hearing Lucas wanted the KIDS to be in the forfront of the story cause this is a new Trilogy. But they changed it to give Han, Luke and Leia there last send off film. It's going to be about Han and Leia kids still so they kept that. Rumors are also that it was Lucas idea for John Boyega's character (A deserter Stormtrooper who joins the rebels). What I get is that they probably kept Lucas's main outlines but changed things (Disney) to make it be more like the Original Trilogy since people hated on the prequels.

I don't think Lucas was going in that direction. I think Lucas wanted the Sequel Trilogy to look completely different from the OT and the PT. But it seems Disney wanted to make the Original Trilogy over again to bring back us Nostaligic fans. It's no different then them bringing Arnold back for Terminator 5. Again I have high hopes but I'm hugely disappointed in Abrams if he thought he knew Star Wars Story better than it's creator. I think when the smoke clears Abrams will come out and admit they did not throw out Lucas's outlines. Remember, Lucas is use to being in complete control so maybe when he heard they changed somethings he got mad and went "They threw it all out" when that might not be the case.
