If you really sit back and think on it TFA basically makes the OG trilogy a failure. Makes the efforts of Luke, leia and Han all for not. I mean just 30 years later the universe is completely fukked ho again. Starkiller base has already did more damage than and deathstar ever. Most likely more casualities ever. TFA just makes them all seem like failures and losers the quality of there achievements.

Like I said before the movie came out, I wish they did something completely separate from the skywalkers. Either a story like 1000 years before or after the end of the OG trilogy. Complete original with the only constants being the force, the Jedi and the sith

Nah, because I-IX has always been about the Skywalkers. That's what the EU is...er...was for

Yeah, they can definitely do trilogies about say, the origins of the Jedi and Sith, at some point in the next few decades. The episodes are about the Skywalkers though.

HE mad cause Disney trashed all his ideas for the new star wars, they paid dude 1.4 billion dollars for the rights. Now if he didn't let it go and made another one where that one flops , where does he go now? It's like peter jackson with the lord of the rings , Yes he had a hit on hands for three movies but then people got tired of them, stories were slow paced... etc etc. Don't be sour about it, just make something new or just ease back and count your money.

He's right in a sense. You have give Lucas credit for trying to tell a different story, even though the execution was way off.

You're telling me with all the possibilities and vastness of the Star Wars universe, a retread of ANH was all Disney could come up with?:francis:

Lucas basically said see this white supremacy agenda that Disney is trying to push I can recognize that and quite frankly I don't want to be a part of that whatsoever. I understand that a white and Asian audiences are craving for anti melanin content I know that is how the USA operates on anti melanated people but I'm not going to be a part of it you can ruin the story to spite black people but my name is not on that you understand me?

Lucas is understandably salty as fukk but I can also understand it. The situation must be sad and confusing for him. He's sort of a father figure to a whole generation of people that grew up on the originals and loved him, and he watched his ideas gain a life of their own and become a part of the world's pop culture. But now he's at a point where those ideas are the world's, but no longer his. he probably felt comfortable selling LucasFilm also thinking that his ideas would be received and that he would still be able to participate in his own creation and his own universe/sandbox. Once they told him to :camby:

I'm sure it hurts really bad. Especially to see how successful and critically praised this new movie is after his last 3 contributions were almost universally shyt on. I'm sure he's jealous and angry. At the same time, despite how much the prequels are basically unwatchable (IMHO), I do believe he thought he was trying some original ideas, however lazy or lame-brained they were. So he's seeing that they basically re-did A New Hope and it's an easy point where he can call them lazy or creative.

But he's still wrong. I mean yes, A Force Awakens did have a lot of callbacks and familiar beats, arguably too many, but most of us agree it sets the stage well for a new cinematic universe of Star Wars films, and that the franchise is in much better hands without his ideas.

You go back and hear stories of how Lucas had so many people to check him on the old films that weren't yes men, and stories of how he wanted Han Solo to be a dirty orphan, or Boba Fett would be Luke and Leia's uncle, making Fett and Vader brothers. Or even in the prequels that Darth Maul was going to look like this

Goofy shyt like that, and then you see his awful prequels where he had all yes men, and you start to wonder just how much better the originals were because other people besides Lucas were involved.

I always kinda got the feeling George Lucas is a huge fraud and just stole a bunch of ideas and created star wars. Maybe I am being a bit harsh I duno. I guess sometimes someone can make a couple great things but then the rest of their work doesn't hold up.

I definitely understand where lucas is coming from. I pretty much said the same thing in the star wars spoiler thread. The whole movie gives you déjà vu. Rey sneaking around the [death]starkiller like obi wan then [vader]ren kills the OG hero in front of the new generation. The millennium Falcon still being around after 40+ years and making it all the way to episode 8 is wack. Give this generation their own version of a millennium falcon.
But the fans won't be happy :(

Han, Luke and co should have gone out like heroes like they were at the end of VI. Instead Luke's been retconned as a coward who ran and a washed up Han Solo went out to some whiney loser and this is what some of you are championing? :mjlol:

:wow:

George prolly also feels some sort of way about that. In basically ripping off his ideas they also shyt on what his characters accomplished in the OT
