Pretty much. I accepted it here because it's been nearly 40 years since the OG trilogy started so a bit of familiarity is cool but I wouldn't want them to keep rehashing the same plot beats for the rest of the movies.

You can not do star wars without putting the ironic moments of the franchise back into the nee feature films.
The new movie is excellent and I have not smiled like that for a whole movie in years.

Only wack part was there was no one dressed up like back in the day cause the theatres were like nikka leave that shyt at yo crib, nikka.

i said the exact same thing, disney recycled; starkiller base was just the death star again, why would you put another death star in a film?

Why would you not have a new more deadly death star in the new film.

I definitely understand where lucas is coming from. I pretty much said the same thing in the star wars spoiler thread. The whole movie gives you déjà vu. Rey sneaking around the [death]starkiller like obi wan then [vader]ren kills the OG hero in front of the new generation.The millennium Falcon still being around after 40+ years and making it all the way to episode 8 is wack. Give this generation their own version of a millennium falcon.

Everytime I see the whole "It's Star Wars for a new generation" line I can't stop laughing. It's not for the new generation at all. It's for the first generation who can't accept anything other than the originals, can't move on from them and will even go as far to accept an inferior imitation

What else would you want it to feel like.
You were supposed to be on the falcon.
You were supposed to see chewie, the chess game, the sexual tension between some young people, the villain coming of age into a bad ass.
The new r2 and his adventure.
The way they flipped it was perfect.

nikka they went to light speed in a hanger,...shyt was cold.
I go to sleep since I seen the shyt watching the new star wars and I totally dig the flip of the characters and how they split the twins story into leia/han's Ben solo as Ben Skywalker and the story of the twins and the female twin being possibly Luke's daughter.
It takes out thrawn and replaces that whole build and no villain jedi's.
To insert you into the turning of Luke's padawan and luke is already possibly Ben through the Mara jade shyt and the child situation is similar.
They don't have to explain crystals to light sabers or the twins and chewie's son being a Jedi.
They don't have to explain the twins which was a real rehash in the books of the past story.

Only thing missing is the possibility of luke going dark side like the dark horse comic did.
Yet, that should be the setup for the last movie hopefully or a new franchise.

I dont want luke to go to the darkside... that's what plageuis (snoke) is for.... Besides luke could have went to the darkside in the past but he didnt. he lost his whole jedi school and lost his nephew in part 7 but didnt turn then. what would possess his integrity to fall to the darkside?

I might not be a big enough Star Wars enthusiast to understand, but I'll never understand the hatred of the prequels as hard as they get. They gave folks what we all know we really wanted to see, Jedi mufukkas doing cool Jedi shyt, something the original trilogy was bare minimum in other than Luke and Vader doing shyt.

I never really paid attention to that nikka to be honest. I ain't lying when I say all Episode 1 for me was waiting for Obi Wan and Qui Gon to put them paws on Maul.

I said this in the before, but truth be told the new star wars flick was over hyped. it's clear that Disney is using their connections and influence to push the sale's of this movie. what I'm more interested in is knowing why George sold it in the first place. he definitely seem's as if he's made a bad move.

plus, Disney's purchase of the rights allows them to rewrite the entire storyline if they chose.

The prequels werent as bad as the nerds like to make them and I appreciate George for trying to do something new. Now we stuck with a never ending story about the Skywalkers with the latest version being an overpowered protag who didnt catch not one L in episode 7.
