High-Level Summary:

Recent analyses reveal a significant imbalance in online media influence, with right-leaning voices dominating digital platforms and shaping public discourse, especially among younger demographics. A study from Media Matters underscores this trend, illustrating the overwhelming online reach of conservative creators compared to progressive ones. This disparity is notably contributing to a substantial ideological shift, as younger voters increasingly lean right.

Experts warn this shift aligns the United States closer to illiberal values akin to those found in authoritarian regimes, posing threats to democratic principles. To reverse this trajectory, there’s a pressing need for more robust support and investment in progressive voices committed to justice, human rights, and democratic values.

Key Takeaway Points:

• Right-wing content creators currently dominate the online media landscape, heavily influencing younger audiences.

• An 11-point shift to the right among young voters occurred between the 2020 and 2024 elections.

• The U.S. is moving towards alignment with illiberal regimes, challenging foundational democratic principles.

• Supporting progressive content creators financially and through subscriptions is essential to balancing the online media environment.

• Immediate action is required to strengthen the progressive message and uphold democratic ideals against rising extremist narratives.

Yes. By pursuing a political program that exists beyond the partisan divide. Large scale public policies like universal healthcare, universal pre-k, free college, paid family leave, raising the minimum wage, ending wars, restoring democratic norms against oligarchic takeover, etc all have appeal across the political spectrum. Harris didn't credibly run on any of these things. My problem with the Harris campaign wasn't that she wasn't explicitly rejecting votes from Republicans, it's that she ended up having them be a central stakeholder in her campaign messaging and policy. She pivoted on immigration and adopted the right-wing Republican plan because she was afraid of these "disenfranchised" Republicans calling her soft. She pivoted on climate and abandoned her prior positions on the environment because she was afraid of these "disenfranchised" Republicans saying she was a hippie. She refused to pursue a moral position on the Gaza genocide and started touting "the most lethal fighting force" because she wanted to appease these "disenfranchised" Republicans. Her campaign didn't actually offer much in the way of hope for progress from the Biden years because she was too worried about what moderate Republicans would think, so she settled for just being the non-Trump figure. She tried to have it both ways and lost because of it.
This is bullshyt.

You just wanted her to sound like AOC, not a presidential candidate.

She’s a former Senator from Cali-fukking-Fornia.

If she couldn't pivot in a direction you would like, then no one can.

But it’s cool now…Dems aint playing this p*ssy shyt in 2026 and 2028. You’re gonna WISH you had let Kamala win. Dems are gonna beat the left into submission and you can’t look for the rest of us to save you. You spat in the hand of a less than perfect deal, so now you’ll get the deal from hell in the democrats pursuit of power.

How does her running away from her own views make her electable? Trump told people Haitians eat cats and dogs and doubled down on it when he was wrong. This coward shyt is why democrats lose.
I’m asking you directly:

Should Kamala Harris have endorsed transgender surgeries for inmates?

Just shows that too much money was spent on traditional media and that they need to inject 200 million of that into the left. The problem is that those sort of people aren’t as “clean” as many on the left would like. And by that I mean, you’re going to end up with a lot of bros and hotep adjacent ass people that bring people in.
