1. The same can be said for plenty of straight brothers but the majority of them recognize that they're black first; there is no other social group that straight black men can align themselves with that permits them to deny that they're black before anything else.

2. The point I was making with gay black men is that far too many of them see themselves as gay first. Even though others do this too, gay blacks directly impact the black community adversely because many of them splinter movements to challenge white supremacy within the black community by diverting attention from white supremacy to gay rights; ironically, even if gay rights were granted, black gays would still receive disparate treatment because of their race.

3. Gay black men taking jobs away from straight black men affects the black community because it prevents straight black men from providing for themselves, dating and MARRYING black women, and creating black families for which they can create wealth and legacies.
I respectfully disagree with most of this ideologically. I must ask, what experience or knowledge do you have to back this up? If you really think that gay brothers in general aren't for the cause, you don't know many. And not to be rude, but you seem to be scapegoating to validate straight men that don't want to be real men. Again, assuming you're correct, don't you think that it's possible that gay people would worry less about being gay if straight people worried less about it? You're saying gay brothers should worry about just being black to then still be at a disadvantage' due to sexual preference? One human right trumps another?

1.) LOL, what about the Mens Rights Movement? I constantly see black dudes on here using talking points from that movement to shyt on (black) women.

2.) At some point civil rights and gay rights intersect for them because they're black AND gay.

3.) So you're going to blame gay black men for straight black men not being able to provide for/marry black women, and not straight black men for impregnating these black women, and deciding not to raise the children, and then making decisions that land them in jail? Wheres the personal responsibility that you dudes here usually talk about? How are you going to blame a gay man for a straight black man not being able to marry a black woman and provide for her? That makes no sense!!!

Neither are straight black men. 10% of the population breh and of that 5% are black men, there is no way in hell we could ever be a threat, we just don't have the numbers.
Everybody needs a scapegoat for their issues/failures/anger. With white people its blacks, and other minorities. Within the black community its women, and gay people. Thats all this is really about. And like you said, black males (gay or straight) are absolutely NO threat to white supremacy. We make up such a small percentage of the American population. I also don't believe this study, at all. Where I work there are straight black men, and I've never seen a gay black man where I work. I see straight black dudes all the time working. I guess it just depends on where you live.

1. I'm basing this off my experience with all the openly gay black men I know (and having lived in Boston and DC, I've come to know MANY gay black men). I'm also basing my response on what I've seen in the media when it comes to gay black men, social movements, and social media. To clarify, I never said gay blacks weren't for the cause; I'm just indicating that MANY of them have conflicted allegiances.

2. I'm not exonerating straight black men for any failures within the black community. I'm merely pointing out that many straight, qualified black men lose job opportunities to equally-qualified black women and gay black men. And that has a negative impact on black families and on their relationships with black women.

3. I'm saying that ALL black people should be 100% invested in combating white supremacy. If we're not, then any perceived advantages derived from fighting other causes (i.e., LGBT rights) will be for naught because we'll still be black and treated as second class citizens by dominant white society. Case in point: the feminist movement and black women.

Why do you think this is?
