No it wasnt. And I enjoyed my Gamecube and felt it had some underrated gems on it.
GameCube was a better system than the PS2.

The Gamecube was one of the only systems I'm my life that I sold. I had the Xbox and PS2 as well. The Gamecube wasn't even close to the PS2. Many of its best games that aren't first party are also on the PS2.

Watched a cool retrospective on the Gamecube today.
Its potential 3D tech was transferred into the Nintendo 3DS and a prototype controller ended up being the gimmick for the Wii.
With that said, N64 & Gamecube mfs swear they shyt was better than the PS1 and PS2 In no universe was those consoles competing with Sony.
