#targset ain't the villain. Starkset is. Y'all the ones who got mad cause ya pawg wanted to get with a real nikka Rhaegar, and started a war and took down a 300 year dynasty that kept peace in the kingdoms just to set a fat boy up there that never even had a proper heir cause he was too drunk to get it up.

Then y'all got one of our seeds, Aegon, who didn't know no better, he had the #targ heart of a champion and y'all corrupted him to not even want to take his rightful place as king of the realms.

Another thing I like is seeing the absolute power of the king and royal family. In Thrones, outside of when Robert was king you mainly saw this from the perspective of having a mad king (Joffery). But here you see the casual cruelty and neglect aspect. Daemon disrespects the Hand, and the king laughs it off as simply a joke. Daemon cheats in the lists, nearly cripples the Hand's firstborn son...and all Otto and his daughter can do is grimace and fake a smile.

The Ancient Starks were a bunch of scoundrels rapist, and wife stealers just like the rest of them. Dishonorable many of them. Nobody in Westeros is “clean”. Nobody in Essos is “clean” either for that matter. Maybe some of the Summer Islanders that avoid conquest.

Nah, look at their historic rivals and you'll see the truth.

House Stark was cold and ruthless, but control of the north was contested primarily between them and House Bolton. There were other kings, like the Umbers/Ryders/Dustins/Flints/Frosts/Towers but they were smaller realms.

Boltons were the main counter-power and we've seen how Roose and Ramsay get down.

Stark primacy saved the north from rulers of their ilk, hence the loyalty.

Stark rule is typified by harsh but fair. Bolton rule is typified by blood, bile and cruelty.

And for the record, the ugly truth of how they consolidated the north doesn't change the fact that the Stark lineage is the simultaneously both one of the most magically potent and historically ancient of all the houses, barring maybe House Reed and Hightower/Dayne respectively.

I remember with game of thrones this was a MAJOR problem…it didn’t affect me bcuz I read up on the events after the first ep…but dudes were still being obnoxious for those who weren’t familiar with it…looks like it’s gonna be happening here again…maybe I’ll just say fukk it and read about the shyt and just enjoy how it plays out on screen smmfh
