Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Lucerys thought he was stuntin' with his baby lambo until Aemond pulled up with the big boy version :wow:

Those dragons looked amazing :whew:

Rhaenyra stays having fukked up child births :picard:

Rhaenyra and Daemon unleashed now :whoo:
"shyt look like a Bentley" :gladbron:

"Yea.. Until a Bentley pull up. Then it looks like a Chrysler 300"

Where the hell is Laenor’s dragon? He certainly couldn’t have taken it with him. A whole ass dragon would make it pretty obvious who he is.

It's not important because as we see in this thread, this is totally against the book. This constant "oops, I made a mistake" is getting old. Oops I heard the wrong thing. Oops I didn't mean to kill the old guy. Oops I didn't know you guys were overthrowing her. Oops I didn't mean to kill Luke.

These were all clear choices of evil made in the book, that are now, not even grey moments.. But straight up "oops" moments. This the type of shyt that makes it juuuuuuuuuuuuust a little less than the start of GOT. GOT was building characters and making sense

The books are not a first person accounting, so no way they actually knew what was happening at these moments. It’s literally the same relationship we have with history. Aemond being shell shocked at losing control of his dragon makes perfect sense for the story being told as I’ve already laid out.

Even the “oops” trope in general…these people have been living in a time of great peace their entire lives. This is all knew to most of them. So it absolutely makes sense they’d be reluctant to mentally take the steps necessary for war and treason. A very different time than GOT which picks up not long after a full fledged rebellion plus the quashing of another (with the Greyjoys). It’s not crazy that Alicent, the “pious”, would need to feel like she’s doing the right thing. Which makes it not even really an “oops” moment. She DECIDES to interpret Viserys says in a way that supports what she wants. If you listen to what Viserys actually says it makes zero sense to interpret it the way Alicent does…

She knows damn well they never talked about their son Aegon having a dream about the North. She never even asked Aegon about it. She’s not a princess, so how could she be the Prince that was Promised? That’s not an oops moment, she was just looking for any reason to justify it to herself and her fragile sense of morality before she moves against who used to be her best friend. Literally no one else needed that justification, cuz no one even believes her.

HOTD ain’t GOT level; it’s made several blunders from a storytelling perspective. But there’s a difference between actual bad storytelling and being mad they’re not telling the story YOU want them to tell. Complain all you want, but this is what happened in HOTD. The thread would be so much better if you just got over it. :yeshrug:

Drogon was definably bigger than Arrax. This chart must be when they were just born

Is it safe to assume Dragons are reptiles? because just like lizard, croc, turtles they never stop growing the older they get

Nah, just because you can create reasons why doesn't make it not bad writing. If it happened once it would be fine, but they constantly fall back on the same trope over and over again, and always for the purpose of taking the intent out of shytty decisions to try to paint characters as morally grey. It just muddies all the characters motivations and doesn't allow for development. Remember, at one point Alicent said she believed Rhaenys would put her kids to the sword, and she understood it meants war. Later she said she thought Rhae would be a good queen. Then there's the misunderstanding with Vizzy. So what are her motivations now? Does she still think she needs to do it to protect her children? Did she forget that she acknowledged that it would lead to war beforehand? Did she stop believing all that because she started to understand Rhae would actually be a good queen? Were the confusing, mumbled words from a dying man so compelling that none of that matters any more and she just feels she must do this thing for her husband? If she doesn't actually believe he was telling her about her son like you claim, why did they include the scene? Did it even need to happen for her to decide to put her son on the throne? You can make up a reason why she would do it and justify it, but narratively speaking, what was the intent of the show writers for including the scene?

If they just had her do the selfish thing and say "fukk that, Rhae doesn't deserve it. My son should be king." it would fit nicely inside her arch. She was wishy washy about it at first, battled with herself over her true feelings and even though she knew Rhae would be a good queen she ultimately gave in to her selfishness and envy and did the shytty thing by usurping the throne. Or, make it so she is against it, but forced into it by Otto. She had come to terms with Rhae becoming queen, but Otto and the council had plans in place to usurp the throne. She doesn't want to go against her Father, but she struggles with the idea of killing Rhae and her kids. Ultimately she is forced to choose a side, and she chooses her father.
Instead, we have no growth made from her original position and no ending arch for her character this season. They took away her need to make the decision, and instead put it on a flimsy scene with Vizzy's mumbled words, and now she has no clear intentions. It's just bad writing.

Y’all act like people aren’t hypocrites and do what they really want to do by flimsily coming up with ways to justify their actions in real life. That’s a common human trait. But be mad about it if you want. :yeshrug:
