Shoutout to Erryk, because he came in clutch the last two episodes.

He saved Rhaenys when The Greens started their coup and stole Vyserys’ crown for Rhaenyra and swore loyalty to her as the true Queen :salute::wow:

You laughed? :picard:

Not at the babies getting murked, but at that noise Vhagar made right after she did it. She gave no fukks, and it's like Aemond just then realized he was riding with a real killer. How long had he been riding her up to this point and he didn't realize who and what she really was??:mjlol: Her having no f's to give and him looking genuinely surprised and scared was unintentionally hilarious.

Yeah, how he responds is going to be interesting, but the scene itself was kind of ruined for me with that. It feels like another one of their "whoops, what a misunderstanding!" tropes that they keep falling back on in this show.
No way he doesn't admit to doing it with intent. If not he looks like a bytch who can't control the greatest dragon alive and Aemond's ego won't be able to handle that.

100% shyts about to get ABSURD. But I'll say I didn't think dude from the Last Kingdom had this kind of range but Aemond is great.

He's so fukking unlikeable and yet when he's on camera you can't help but get excited for the fukkery he brings. But we need 2 years just for the CGI work needed to make this shyt look good. HBO byke :wow:

Now on the story tip...not only is this war, but Aemond about to have Jace on his ASS. That boy ready for action.

My boy showing out on this. He was so friendly and likable on The Last Kingdom and now he on straight up demon time:wow:

We got two Last Kingdom actors so far. I'm hoping they bring over Uhtred the gawd for s2 :wow:

School me on this. Will there probably be an episode called dance of the dragons? Or is that just a book thing?
"The Dance of the Dragons" is what this war is known as. Very doubtful they name an episode that, especially since Game of Thrones already named an episode that when Shireen was reading about the Dance in a history book and she talked with Stannis about it.

All of season 1 was basically a prologue to the Dance. The next 3 seasons should all be the conflict that is remembered in the history books as "The Dance of the Dragons."

I really don't like how they're trying to make every character grey. They just have everyone coming off as indecisive, and it gets frustrating. They even had Aemond, who is basically a comic book villain, killing Luke on "accident." If he wasn't trying to kill him, why chase him at all? Lil man could have fell off the shyt and died or something. Even Luke was yelling "Arrax, no!" when he hit Vhagar with the yoga flame. Just let the characters make decisions, good or bad. :snoop:

Luke and Ameond losing control of the dragons is important from a narrative perspective, it wasn’t about making any characters “grey”. First, it serves as the first blow to ignite the war. We saw last episode how much Alicent doesn’t want to go to war and we see this episode how Queen Rhaenyra doesn’t want to go to war too. I’m sure Alicent gave Aemond the same speech Queen Rhanyra gave Luke about not being warriors on this mission. Ameond is an immature bully tho. So when Luke falls in his lap, he couldn’t resist taking the opportunity to bully him. He meant to scare and humiliate Luke with his “snack size” dragon (word to Dora), but he didn’t mean to kill him. And I that fits perfectly narratively. It doesn’t make him grey, he just didn’t intend to kill Luke at that moment.

The second reason it fits narratively to have them lose control of the dragons is it illustrates that dragonriders don’t have full control of the dragons. Especially when they’re fighting something that can actually fight back (another dragon). That sets the stage for next season beautifully. They’re about to go to war with these incredibly destructive weapons they can’t even control. Imagine how chaotic that could get. Got me hype as fukk foot season 2; can’t believe we gotta wait 2 years. :francis:

King Viserys dropped that wisdom on Rhaenyra episode 1

"The idea that we control the dragons, is an ILLUSION.
They're a power man should never have trifled with."

Which dragon skull is that? I was thinking all this time it was Baelaryon until I just realized that he chilling somewhere in old Valeria.

Whoever that is, is tiny compared to Vhaegar :picard:

even tho I’m aware of some spoilers I’m not familiar with book details…this is no longer a spoiler but from what I’ve seen in the other thread, in the book aemond was in full control of the dragon and was intent on killing lucerys…they switched it up in the show to make it accidental probably so as not to completely vilify him
You supposed to doubt everything the book layed out. It's an in world recounting multiple sides/sources of events. Written by a maester. Part of the point is outside of straight facts everyone knows (X died at X battle etc) no one truly knows how things played out, everyone has an agenda (it's heavily hinted at in both shows, all the books that Maesters have their own agenda/conspiracies outside of w/e the current rulers are doing).

That was Vermithor. King Jaehaerys', the old king in ep.1, dragon. Other than a wild dragon it's the 2nd biggest dragon next to Vhagar.
Daemon getting the big guns ready for the pullup :demonic:

Daemon: Aemond boy, you been ripping off my savage swag and feeling yourself a bit too much since you stole that dragon. Let me give you lesson in how the OGs do it.
