Alicent complaining about her situation is not asking for death like Rhaenyra literally saying she wants Laenor dead to marry Daemon

I see the fact she took advantage of the situation and didn’t turn him in.

Larys could have done a number of things to get rid of the Hand but he chose murder. That’s on him. Alicent going ahead with the situation is when she became complicit.

after this episode Team Black has this huge pile of corpses of the people they have directly killed or slighted because they are incompetent war mongers

and then on Team Green we have a bunch of religious hypocrites who protect the small folk and actually care about their subjects


Nice to see the showrunners understand that the heroic side kills the people they are supposed to protect and this political system hinges on the small folk even putting up with this system of government


If this was Game of Thrones we'd have Robb or Jon talk about how honorable it is to not kill in the dark and then wage a war where so many more people will die

I feel like the writers established Aegon is unreliable, untrustworthy, and doesn’t believe in responsibility or duty. So when a crucial part of the plan comes, that’s where the problem comes from is good writing,

Viserys is a plotter, but his plans usually fall apart because of the stronger bonds of Rhaenyra coming through for her(Viserys at the throne, Rhaenys and the dragon, no to the marriage proposal, and Viserys firing him on his daughters advice).

The guy who pimped our his daughter and grandson for power consistently thwarted by actual familial strength.

why does otto, a guy who's literally met mysaria before when he had a direct confrontation with daemon somehow come to the point where he's asking her where his grandson is on the day he's wagered everything on

he's shown to have an information network in the past, but somehow not only does he not know of her being back in KL but he's also forced to meet her in the open to get access to *her* information to find his heir - who is stuffed into some cubbyhole in the middle of a horribly conspicuous building

this was worse than some of the season 8 shyt the more i think about it lol...

The Game of Thrones is a game that the high lords and ladies play
The Small folk are pretty team no one in general but when they do takes sides like in this episode it becomes significant

They are props but they do have agency as they can absolutely rise up against the monarchy

Rhaenyra's casual way of showing how she dismisses them is going to set her a part from Aegon imo
