I don't agree with destabilizing Ethiopia. It's like ten times more populous than Somalia so a civil war in Ethiopia would get very ugly and eventually destroy the whole region. It would be ten times worse than the somali civil war. It's a nightmare scenario IMO. I do wish for a more decentralized form of government though, I think this would ensure long term peace and prosperity for all parties involved. There's too much mistrust between all ethnic groups at this point for them to accept to be dominated by one group of people.

We should seek a normalized relationship, but the Ethiopian government is going to have to change course for that to happen. Somalia is weak right now and it seems like the Ethiopian government wants it to stay weak and pacified.

Agreed. A lot has to change within Ethiopian politics and government. I'm interested to see if this huge youth generation and the diaspora can help bring the right ideas to the table.

BTW rumours are already floating about women being considered. The dynamics with donors, clan politics, etc make it so. Its hardly out of the question.

Its the same reason HSM appointed a woman as his FM in his first cabinet, as well as a woman as Central Bank Governor.
