I heard minoxidil makes things worse?
It does for a short while maybe a few weeks /months to get rid of the weak hair but then new stronger /thicker hair growth comes .... see people who take minoxidil freak out wen this starts happening then stop using it .. got to stick with it .....

patience breh. I will hit my 3 month mark on the 10 of this month and my donor was similar to yours, but is slowly recovering. Your scalp just went thru 8-9 hours of shock, it's gonna take a few months. Drink a lot water, exercise and like brehs have said previously.... JBCO or argan oil. I also wash my hair with biotin-collagen shampoo that I copped at Target. The name of the game is patience, you in the ugly phase breh, but it'll get better.

my journey is going smoothly, i haven't cut my hair since i had the operation in early August and when i run my fingers along my scalp i feel a bunch of small hairs poking thru. 3-4 months is when a bunch of new hair growth begins. I also take a multivitamin and fishoil once per day.

so glad i went doing quarantine on a quest to reclaim my hairline:wow:
if you brehs on the fence are able, you should go asap because who knows how covid is going to affect travel as i hear we are having high cases like back in March.
@Malcolmxxx_23 @TradePascalSiakam :mjpls: I'm looking at you brehs
What’s the name of the shampoo breh? Does it make a noticeable difference?

Is taking biotin supplements worth anything?
Have to take that in combination with something like fin , minoxidil etc .... just taking biotin by it self won’t change much ...

To the brehs that went Asli and maybe those in general who went to Turkey..... do they only treat you if your hairline has completely gone off the rails?.......mine hairline is decent but the sides and edges are starting to go back....would I need to wait for further hair loss?
i don’t doubt that they would still treat you. My hair at the top of my dome wasn’t completely gone but they still implanted hair there to anticipate future hair loss in that area.

Remember, Asli Tarcan is a flat rate unlike most clinics where the number of grafts you need will determine how much you pay. If your corners are thinning or if you rocking a George Jefferson, you’re still going to pay $1700 sans airfare

It doesn’t hurt to contact them and send them pictures to see what they say, that would be my next move if I were you. They may tell you to wait if it isn’t too bad.

I never got the love for minoxidil. I was using it briefly before I went to asli. It dries out your scalp and while I did see minimal growth, as soon as you stop usin it, the progress you made falls out. Plus, it’s a lifetime commitment. That’s thousands of dollars down the drain for something that’s not a permanent fix

And those oils at the beauty supply store... save your loot. Those won’t help you if DHT (male pattern baldness) is causing hair loss.

There is only one option to regain your hairline/crown back...

that’s the one I got from target, but there are other biotin/collagen shampoos out there if u do a google search.

i’ve only been using it for about 2 weeks. I can’t tell if it’s the shampoo or the multivitamins but when I compare where my hair is at 3 months post op to people Ive seen on Youtube at their 3 months, I feel like i have more density. But that could be a myriad of factors such as diet, exercise, hair quality, and even the expertise of the team working on my head.

If u have hair loss due to DHT/male pattern baldness then this shampoo won’t stop that.

I’m good hair wise, but if I can make it healthier and thicker from using supplements and other products I don’t mind using them.

i guess the only thing u can do is be patient. i'd start rubbing jamaican castor oil on that patch to revitalize the scalp and hair there

Jamaica Castro oil for 3months
4 times a week

For the bumps, I went to my dermatologist. She gave some antio biotics (Doryx) and it has made the bumps a million time betters than the constant use of Oil to fight away the bumps. LOL but yeah, I am out here looking crazy and shyt. I am trying to wait until January to the four month mark to hit my barber up but man it's tough :picard:. I am in the house all day or with a hat :mjlol:.

So if you just wanna lower your line, do you think it’ll be cheaper in the States since it’s one flat rate in Turkey?

I doubt it, tbh. But understand the convenience of gettin it done in the US may be worth it to some.

It doesn’t hurt to reach out to different clinics though just to see. Make sure you do your research and see that they are well versed in afro type curly hair texture. And not just one or two patients either.

When did growth start to kick in? Right now all over my head i have these random ass strands. The rest is very dormant. I'm trying to hold off from a cut as much as possible.

I didn’t shed a lot to be honest. But I started noticing some growth in the past week and a half in my transplanted area. Just be patient. You’ll notice little hairs start to poke thru your scalp around 2 1/2 - 3 months in.

My donor area is still a little thin at some spots but it is considerably better than it was a month ago. And I definitely think my donor area will be back to normal in a few months
