Not really understanding the time line here.

I updated the OP with the new info once this became the official thread....but I started this thread in December 2016 because Blair Norf said he heard the album.
How did he hear the album if they recorded most of it in 2017? :jbhmm:

Did they have a whole other album recorded, and decided to start over after Gibbs got out of prison? :jbhmm:

fantastic album. a follow up that was worth the wait.

this feels more collaborative than Pinata in places too.
felt like Gibbs probably had more of a say in what he wanted in the beats this go round.

nothing more really needs to be said about Madlib.

Freddie sounds incredible on most of it but i still have my gripes with him.
he has his moments but outside of random lines i enjoy the bars still don't stick for me like that.

when i listen to him i don't feel him like i do with Push, Benny, Payroll...more recently guys like Money Man or Peezy.

hopefully a project with Alchemist is next in the pipeline from Freddie.
Pusha T and Madlib would be right up my alley..an elite rapper finally doing an album with Madlib.

i got Jim's El Capo and Mach's latest as my 1&2 of the year so far. this gives me a nice balance between the both of them.

Honestly i think sample clearance issues prolonged the album and it was done way before But it.was worth it

shyt def not fire like y'all saying:francis:

Some of these beats are fukking horrible

shyt good if u take off certain songs

A few songs are def fire tho

Album no where near the Freddie album:wow:
Freddie did his thing on here and this is Madlib. Like this is how his production is and has been his whole career. I just love how Madlib just be taking chances.. I get tired of the same old same in hiphop.

Am I tripping or does the mixing sound off a lot?
And not speaking about the intentional parts of some songs

Or it could be the version that's on Google play (which i have) could be messed up:jbhmm:

Freddie was ok but a lot of the beats on there sounded super generic to me. A few standouts but lot of it was standard issue trap imo

You prob just prefer trap which is fine:yeshrug: and yea some of the mixing is a bit off

Which songs did u not like btw?

don't think cats even really get this line like that :wow:

If you ever watched Sopranos that line was pretty easy to catch.

The next line though....

Choppin' up this block white top in Yohji Yamamoto's

I had to Google who that was.
