No one invested in this story has provided proof that such a cover up exists. If you're biased against the DNC, then you're more likely to assume there is without evidence.

That there is a conspiracy surrounding Seth Rich's death involving the DNC. They have personally asked several media figures to stop using their son's death to leverage a political agenda against the DNC/Liberals/et al. Here's an op-ed written by Seth's parents in the Washington Post:

The latest revelation — that a hacker from New Zealand may have been trying as recently as this week to hack into Rich’s email — offered fresh evidence that the conspiracy theory is false. Dotcom, it seemed, may have been willing to create a fake archive of emails from Rich to “prove” his role in the DNC hack.

“It looks like someone set up a fake Gmail account, then used that Gmail account to create the Mega account,” said James Lewis, cybersecurity expert and a senior vice president at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “This part is pretty standard.
