That is the point and Days gone still is superior in a lot of categories compare to this game and it only scored 71/75 on metacritic.

I disagree with your original post but Days Gone launched in Cyberpunk/BF2042 status.

Metacritic isnt a really good indicator here since its reflective of the game in that state.

This is an old demo. The new vids shows that they've improved upon the game's performance.

Also, there's graphics settings options in the demo as well. It's default set to performance.
I am not buying the excuse the demo is old to explain the graphics of this game. We hear that excuse all the time when people point out the poor graphics of a soon to be release game, Halo infinite comes to mind. The graphics in this demo is too downgraded, compared to some of its earlier showing, to be explained away by the old demo excuse.

The performance mode is the best mode and the fidelity mode is absolutely trash. The 30fps fidelity mode in this game feels sluggish especially compare to games like Horizon forbidden west and uncharted thieves collection 30fps mode.

Graphically, this game is very disappointing especially compare to some of the game's earlier trailers that they showed off.

Days gone on pc launched in a much better state and still only scored 75/76 on metacritic.

The game didn't start clicking until I adjusted the settings a bit. The default ones aren't that great.

It's fun but the banter is really weak and corny, the ui is messy. I do like that the magic system appears to have a bit more layers than expected tho.

Game will struggle to sell for sure especially at $70. I can't see it appealing to a lot of folks right off the bat, but we'll see. I still maintain they should have retooled this into a FF title.

Gotta create new IP’s eventually plus them having a black woman star in an ff game using just magic would be too controversial. Look how people flipped out a while ago just because FFXVI didn’t have party members and other little staples.

My bad then, I thought you were referring to the console version.

I havent played the PC version but the game with the PS5 patch looks amazing, so I imagine PC looks even better. Horizon is probably the best looking game out. So this game not measuring up to those games in fidelity is whatever, it still looks great.

Strong disagree on the dialogue being better in Days Gone tho. Days Gone has embarrassingly bad dialogue in many scenes. The flashbacks were especially cringey. I remember my girl laughed at me for playing the game when she heard the scene with the whole "I want to ride you like your bike" line from the other room. That whole arc with the kid survivor was some of the dumbest writing I ever seen in a game since the PS2 era.

I thought about uninstalling this demo several times but wanted to give it a fair shake. This is modern game design at its worst. Just jumping around opening chests with no motivation or structure. I'm sure the story has something going for it but nothing in this demo gameplay wise hasn't been seen before. The fluidity of the combat is its saving grace but its combined with so much mid that it cant even stand on its own. They should've kept this one in the tuck.

I remember play tales of Arise demo and thinking this is some mid and the graphics look huff…but its a demo :yeshrug:


Lo and behold the actual game had great visuals and was one of the better tales games in the series.

Yall just crying for no reason, the game aint even out yet. I imagine on combat alone this game wont be bad it looks like its wayyyy too much depth there

Right. The base spells alone seen to have quite a bit of depth and variety to them. And I believe you are able to mix the spells later in the game

Only ran around for 10-20 minutes but this game looks and feels way better than all of the trailer's hinted at. I can still see this being a better experience and sleeper on PC though. Combat became very natural just after the first encounter(spamming R2 attacks and swapping spells with L2, tapping L1, then pressing R2 for spells)

This game has 120Hz VRR mode on top of ray tracing, performance. Pay attention to you controller that when you switch magic spell so your controller suddenly changes from purple to red on your controller, depend on your magic spell
