it's actually not the dumpster fire people (including me) were expecting on PC. the demo runs pretty smooth for me, and I have a 2070 SuperI'm hearing you basically need a 4090 to run this well on PC and it looks very dated on ps5. Gameplay is cool thankfully but just what in the entire fukk were they doing to optimize this
The only review I cared to see was Digital Foundry’s. Seeing resolution as low as 720p in performance mode
That’s really my main disappointment. Guess I’ll stick to ray tracing mode

FFVIIR wasn't nearly as big as this game is in scale or effects tho. This made into that style of game could probably look every bit as good as that for sure.

Its serviceable, its basically your typical story about a person from our world getting transported into a fantasy world. Its not great, not bad, think of something like Willow or Narnia

Anime geeks who like Sword Art Online, Overlord ect should feel right at home with this story it’s a isekai

Good to know. Steam reviewers are going in on it, but I don't know how much is genuine vs racist cacs mad at "wokeness". I'll download the demo tonight.
the game is "poorly optimized" in that the visuals don't really justify the performance you get. but you can find settings to get the game running smoothly. it's not one of these games that's an 'unplayable' stuttering mess regardless of settings
overall it's not something I'm in a hurry to buy at full price though. maybe when it gets a deep discount
at least it has a demo

Also, im not even gonna try and convince anyone not interested in this game to get it but i will maintain that the demo was incredibly shytty for this game.
That demo was a big reason why i don’t typically play a lot of game demo’s unless its a “play the first 3 chapters and continue in the full game” deal.
