:snoop: I cant believe folks are siding with Smith over Monroe at PF. Josh has created turmoil within the Pistons fan elite.
Josh has played at a high level before consistently on playoff teams and Monroe has not. For a guy playing in a contract year, hes playing like garbage. People tend to overvalue their own players. Piston fans are finally starting to see all of monroes flaws and he is by far the easiest piece to move that will actually bring in another player of value.

When does the fire Dumars rumors start on espn:wtb:

You know who just won one of the Rookie of the Month awards for December? Hint: It wasn't KCP. :mjpls:

Like dj said, Monroe is MUCH easier to move than Smith. Nobody is taking that guy unless Detroit takes an atrocious contract in return. When Smith is at the 4 and plays inside, he actually is pretty good, but with this team, he's just encouraged to stay on the perimeter. He's 100x better than Monroe defensively too. Monroe will net them some decent assets in return.

MCW would have had that on lock minus injury :mjpls: , and would be a good/better fit on this team.

:sadcam: Joe D

but to be fair to KCP the kid is solid though, and should get more minutes per game based off of his production, he's one of the few bright spots on the team.

Stop quoting stats, we watch these pistons games for years and Monroe is not some efficient top of the line player. Monroe can't dominate anybody in the post and he just might be the worst pick and roll defender in the league. He never gets a rebound when they need it and stay falling and getting ripped when he trying to make a move to the hoop.

Here are some more stats for You:
These are Monroe's rankings not just at his position, but league wide.

Current League Rankings
PPG: 17th
RPG:10th
APG:21st
OPPG:24th

How is he not elite? He may not be clutch, but if His worst measurement is top 25... riddle me that?

Josh blowed last Year and he blows this Year. Dude has a wiring issue. Greg Monroe will not bring any value to the Pistons at this point because he is still playing on a rookie contract, Which he is outperforming.

The only way for us to get any value out of Greg is via sign and trade. I'm all for trading him if we get back equal value. But it's not gonna happen unless it's a sign and trade. There aint too many Wing players on the market that can scratch what he brings. If Moose is traded, it shouldn't happen until the end of the season, when it can be maximized.

Are those some advanced stats or something ? Cause he's in the 60s in PPG and 22 in RPG and I won't even bother with APG.

I don't care about random stats you cherry picked. He is no where near elite. I can name 15 pf better than monroe right now.
We praise Drummond none stop but he has been very mediocre this year despite his gaudy numbers. Drummond is getting double-doubles in his sleep, Im sure his advanced stats are insane but his impact has been marginal. Monroes numbers mean nothing. We have a starting lineup with 2 centers and a pf. They just don't mesh. Josh has always been erratic but not this bad. He has played at all star level for a while now, he is just out of position.
Joe D doesn't have until the end of the year to fix this team. He's managing for his job now. As the team is currently setup im not even sure we make playoffs. Net and knicks are playing better than det right now. Worst case scenario is possible that we are 9th seed and out of the top 8 in loaded draft.
A move has to be made.

Cherry Picked? I gave You the top 4 categories. Even if You could name 15 better PFs that means nothing. They are not coming to Detroit. Drummond's impact is marginal? How many 20 year olds do You know of, that can put a team on their back? That's not even his responsibilty at this point.

Joe is managing for his job now. So pushing the panic button and giving away Your 2nd best player at a wholesale price is what should be done? Naw, He's done that enough. No moves have been made thus far because there are none to be made. At least wait until Summer to get full retail price.

Monroe is in the top echelon of PF's in the league, and is still developing/getting better imo. He only played two years at G-Town learning the rest of his trade in the League. He runs the floor well, excellent foot work, has quick hands, has elite post moves, has mid range, has elite court vision for a big man. His main problem (what it seems like from complaints in regards to boards and defense) is that he doesn't have any hops/cant jump out of the gym. He gets good positioning for a board, but cats jump over his back (illegally) and steal the rebound. Monroe is one of the most disrespected players in the League in relation to getting calls, yes he gets stripped from holding the ball too low at times, but he also gets hacked quite a bit., and as i mentioned dudes go over his back often.

If you want him to be productive night in/night out, then feature him in the offense as the #1 option :ld:

shyt i could make a case for other young guys favors, henson, thompson. Or old ones like boozer and bargnani. Or stretch 4s like josh and melo.

Josh Smith has made me tune out from Pistons game. If we could keep one, I would go with Monroe. dude is shooting 51 % on only 12 shyts. He isnt featured. Is he a legit number 1 option-no, but I rather him getting 15 shots per game and not Jennings or Smith. This team is poorly constructed and poorly coached.

The answer to who stays is Smith-only because of that terrible contract.

Greg is damn near the Youngest of everyone on the list, and which one of those players are attainable. You'd take Duncan today over Monroe? Amir? Nene? Jefferson? So in essence You are saying You would rather salvage this season than look to the future. Monroe is 24, He hasn't peaked Yet. Most of them players on that list have. and the rest are putting up #'s similar to Greg. Greg also outplayed a few players on that list throughout his career and this season. Nice list but it doesn't support a reason for Moose to be traded.
