“People will blame Mayweather if the Pacquiao fight does not happen,” Marquez told ESPN. “If Floyd wants to be known as the best fighter ever, he needs to demonstrate it by taking this fight and beating the man who was considered the pound for pound best for many years in Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather needs to stop posting videos and pictures on social media mocking Pacquiao and just take the fight. After the fight he can say whatever he wants but until then, the most important thing is accepting the fight!”

This is 100% truth.

Funny thing is, alot of people try and say "Manny needs Floyd....Floyd doesnt need Manny", but that's not true. Financially, no, Floyd doesnt need Manny, but Manny doesnt need him. No, Manny can NOT make the same type of money he would make fighting Floyd, and it's vice versa. Floyd is NOT seeing a 100 million check unless he fights Manny. He will still get his 30-40 million each fight, but Manny aint getting chump change himself. He's making 20 million everytime he fights which is more than any boxer walking this earth accept Floyd.

The main difference is that Manny's legacy doesnt need Floyd, because he's already faced and defeated 7 HOFers (possibly 8 if Bradley continues winning), and is a 7x Champion over 6 different divisions. He also doesnt have the stigma attached to him that he's "avoiding" Floyd because all he does is call out Floyd for years. Floyd, on the otherhand, NEEDS Manny because legacy wise he will take a HUGE hit if he doesnt face the #2 fighter at 147 since 2008 (7 years next year they've been at the same weight and havent fought).

Floyd doesnt have the same amount of HOF scalps or titles on his resume as Manny does, and if the fight never materializes (for whatever reasons) FLOYD will take the much larger hit, because he's known for basically always dismissing the consensus #2 147lber for 7 years and ducking him.

That's just the facts. No stanning, no biasness, I dont care about Pacquiao or Floyd, so Im calling it how I see it:yeshrug:

There's really no excuse for the fight to not be made at this point. Even men who've fought both Pac/Floyd want the fight to happen. Is that what it's going to take? All of Floyd's next opponents have to turn him down and say "nah champ, you have to face Pacquiao now." Lol, Floyd would probably rather retire right on the spot, you know, because he's in control of his destiny.

So you think Chris Algieri or other fringe contenders like Jesse Vargas should stop Pac and say "Nah Manny you got to fight Floyd now"?

that doesnt make him a hof because the talent is watered down
No the fighting and dispensing of top opponents and talent is what makes him a future HOF, if everything keeps going this way

He hasnt?

List of HOF fighters Pacquiao has already beaten and has a career record of 11-2 in his 13 fights against them:

Erik Morales
Marco Antonio Barrera
Juan Manuel Marquez
Oscar De La Hoya
Ricky Hatton
Shane Mosley
Miguel Cotto

Timothy Bradley, if he continues on at the pace he's on now (the only man walking with Ws over both Pacquiao and JMM), can be the 8th HOFer that Pacquiao has beaten and would make his career record 12-3 in 15 fights against HOF competition:ufdup:

That's some legendary shyt:yeshrug:

Timothy Bradley has notable victories over:

Miguel Vazquez
Junior Witter
Kendall ****
Lamont Peterson
Devon Alexander
Joel Casamoyer
Manny Pacquiao
Ruslan Provodnikov
Juan Manuel Marquez

All Current/Former Champions, including 2 sure shot HOFers on that list.

To say that he wouldnt be a HOF member, even though he's been on the ONLY P4P list that matters (RING Magazine's) Pound 4 Pound list for over the past 4 years, if he keeps on winning at the pace he's on is ridiculous breh:manny:

What JMM said was valid back in 2009...

The problem now is nobody is going to give Floyd credit for whooping this dude in 2015...They're going to say Floyd purposely waited for Pacquiao to get old and slow...Skip and ESPN already started with that bullshyt last year...so how can a win over Pacquiao help Floyd's legacy if the haters and media won't accept it?

Well, it's not too far off either:yeshrug:

Pacquiao and Floyd have been in the same division since they were 29 years old and 31 years old. If they fight in May of 2015, Pacquiao will be 36 and Floyd 38 years old. That's a LONG ass time to not face the #2 147 lber, especially when the #2 fighter has been calling you out every month the entire time.

The ONLY way for Floyd to get any saving grace out of it is to beat the STILL consensus 2nd best 147lber, even if it's 7 years later...Manny is still the 2nd best out there, and take the small hit for making the fight 7 years too late rather than NOT taking the fight at all and having that being the biggest blemish on his record.

His legacy would be framed around him not fighting Pacquiao just as much as it would be for his boxing talents.

Imagine Muhammad Ali retiring without ever fighting George Foreman:scusthov:
