The ACC as we know it dies if FSU is successful because that opens the door for every other ACC school to challenge the rule. It’s a huge domino effect

Yep, if FSU bounces then Clemson is right behind them. League can’t survive if those two school leave.

Yea I think it would be a 2 for 1 deal with both schools going to the SEC, Stanley doesn’t want to expand unless the right schools come open and FSU/Clemson make sense geographically, with rivalries and quality of football programs. I could see them joining in 2025 if FSU wins the lawsuit

The bump is clealy to sniffing the B1G and SEC money.

And let not act as if FSU is the only school to go back on deal. When Texas, USC, etc has done the same thing. :heh:
USC also waited until their deal was up and went to another conference. And if it wasn’t for OU not having their $$$ ready, Texas and the Sooners would’ve been in the SEC this past season. They STILL PAID the Big 12 to leave early. FSU should do the same if it means that much to them. The amount isn’t a secret. :mjpls:

Edit: Sidenote…they’re just trying to pull a Maryland hence why the leagues media rights deal and GoR is structured the way it is. Maryland still had to pay the ACC member schools to leave but it was at a severely reduced level. Fearing mass exodus, they came up with the TV contract that they now suddenly hate and drafted the GoR deal the way it’s built in order to prevent another Maryland deal and it’s exactly what they’re trying to pull now.

Right, just pay money if you're discontent. :mjpls:

Won’t this court sh!t take years? They’re fuked regardless

I'd make them nikkaz ineligible for ACC Championships unless they pull the lawsuit. See how quick they fall in line. Don't get mad at the deal you signed. If you don't like it, pay the fee to leave, and be in the red even in a new conference for years.

Its not a bummy conference if FSU, Mia and Clemson are all good. They seem to take turns tho. Its always 2 or 3 teams in the sec thats top 10 at the same time. Then 2 or 3 more thats legit top 15.

Louisville in the conference championship was pathetic.

If Louisville didn't choke that Kentucky game, they'd only have 1 loss.

I think that’s the point. I’m sure contract lawyers can explain this better, but if you can’t see the terms of a contract you signed and aren’t allowed to make copies, that could be legally dubious.
They can see it and review but they have to go onsite. They are not allowed to make or take a copy.

And? Its 1 loss in a bum azz conference. Ppl gotta stop talking about wins and losses like everyone's schedule is the same. Im not impressed with FSUs undefeated season cuz they didn't beat anyone besides LSU in wk 1. Im more impressed with Georgia and Bama with 1 loss over fsu.

The College football Playoffs basically going to be the BIG 10/SEC invitational

:mjlol:

Exactly.

I'm about 10 seconds from converting into a Oregon State or Washington State fan. All these greedy a$$holes don't realize ESPN manipulated them into ruining college football for ESPN broadcast rights that Disney is probably going to sell off soon.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Looking like cheeks without your QB is why. Hunter doesn't get hurt and they're in. His injury gave them an excuse to fukk them over (Actually in the committe by laws that your playoff ranking can be adjusted due to losing a critical player).

Man, you’re a smart dude but you’re either being incredibly naive or are just ignorant on this matter as a byproduct of some misguided FSU disdain. The Jordan Travis injury was a convenient excuse to keep FSU out of the CFP in lieu of a SEC team. ESPN was maneuvering for this shyt before JT was even injured. They told us exactly what was going to happen beforehand, but then tried to make it about one player after the fact. There’s also this moving target shyt people do with FSU. Michigan’s offense the last three weeks was WORSE than FSU’s with their starting QB, but nobody was clamoring for them to be left out. Apparently, only FSU’s close wins matter. One of the one hand, you have people hailing a UT win over Alabama in week two, but on their other hand, you have the same people exclaiming Alabama is a “new” team now, so why is that Alabama win so valued then? They aren’t the same team anymore, right? So, we can discount that win some by UT who lost to a middling Oklahoma team, right? Which also played Rice and Kansas State close. Oh, it’s because they beat up on Oklahoma State. Gotcha, the same team fukking UCF beat up on worse a week before.

The point is, all the criteria they used is super subjective and you have objective measures in place already to evaluate teams. Additionally, no one KNOWS what football team is better until they actually play on the field. For instance, dikkhead Herbstreit for all his posturing and peacocking is the worst “picker” on College Gameday. Yet, he’s been talking about this shyt like he’s some kind of authority on who would win. FSU would’ve gave a team that just lines up and tries to run the ball on you (like Michigan) fukking FITS. We also have the best pass defense in the country. They would’ve struggled mightily to move the ball on our defense. That CFP this is just one thing.

The bigger matter is that the ACC in totality is not a serious football conference, and FSU is primarily a football school, athletically. We no longer align with the majority of the conference in terms of sensibilities and expected remuneration. You even have the head of the CFP calling the ACC as “supposed P5.” At this time, the ACC does not benefit FSU athletically, so we’re leaving. Period. The GT’s (no shade), SMU’s, CALs, Wake Forrests of the world can stay in the ACC. It’s where they belong.
