Money is fukking up college football. I used to love it more than the NFL.
Florida State vs. Big Ten overall recordFlorida State has been acting like it's the premier institution in the ACC
They will get steamrolled in the B10 or SEC
Bobby Bowden is no longer on the sidelines...if they need a history lesson, they should go back and see why he didn't want FSU to be in the SEC in the first place
They need to get rid of these conferences and start over. This is all about TV money.
Notre Dame has been independent for eons and has been fine.
Chip Kelly actually broke down how it should actually go.
ShiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidSMU Lost.
The bigger matter is that the ACC in totality is not a serious football conference, and FSU is primarily a football school, athletically. We no longer align with the majority of the conference in terms of sensibilities and expected remuneration. You even have the head of the CFP calling the ACC as “supposed P5.” At this time, the ACC does not benefit FSU athletically, so we’re leaving. Period. The GT’s (no shade), SMU’s, CALs, Wake Forrests of the world can stay in the ACC. It’s where they belong.
Bruh the ACC was a basketball conference when FSU joined it. There is no “we no longer align” angle because you snubbed the SEC specifically because you knew you could run through the ACC and set yourself up for National Championships.
Only now does FSU have a problem with that because being in a mediocre football conference now hurts them instead of helps.

Victim mentality ain't gon work and you won't have support of member schools and the ACC office after you openly been crying about money and trying to leave for a couple of years now fam.None of the ACC really advocated for us to be in the playoffs like how the Slytherin ass SEC folks get on code. They drew first blood.
There is a TON of stuff unique to cfb that is about to die and/or has been underappreciated as part of the allure/tradition/entertainment package, I think the networks also underestimate how much peeling back the veil of amateurism will kill the interest for people who actually believe in the fake bs to begin with, it will be too much for them to realize that 18 yo will make more than they ever will and it was ALWAYS a money grab.I don't think people give enough credit for how regionalism and rivalry and the shyt that has nothing to do with the actual game is what makes CFB feel like a more entertaining product than the NFL. This almost certain end where we just have a couple (or less) monolithic superleagues where it's FSU vs Alabama and Ohio State against USC jr every week sounds good, but that's just the NFL. There's no inherent juice for FSU vs Alabama like there is for FSU vs Miami or Ohio State vs Michigan. The game shines when it's big brand vs big brand AND they got some fukks to give before during and after the game ends. Who gives a shyt about Georgia vs Clemson after the game ends?
The ACC WILL collapse as a power 5 power if FSU succeeds here. Maybe it shouldn't have the status it does if it isn't getting its institutions to the same level as the SEC and the B10, but at some point, we gotta be real in that sometimes, the powers that are have to be asked to keep others alive for the sake of the sport. This is just mirroring capitalism now - you lose something of the human experience when you let the lil dude fail. There's no memories made shopping in Amazon, Walmart, Publix. That mom and pop store is who you remember.
FSU should do what FSU wants to do, and now has to do to survive with the way the TV Networks, SEC, B10, have played the game. But it's still going to fukk the game if they succeed. It's going to be SEC, B10, and lil dog B12 and ACC. Lil dog ACC is gonna have less juice than even the B12, because the Big 12 turned around and ate up alot of the little little dogs. It's capitalism and survival that kills anything in America

GT left the SEC and turned down the BIG10 for the same reason. And now we stuck looking like fools.
I'd smack the f*ck outta you, on fo'em. Watch your mouthThe crazy thing about this is I'd violate you in real life.
Yes, it was a basketball conference when we joined. We were independent before the ACC as were a lot of teams. Let me ask you a question: was conference alignment and affiliation what it is now in importance when we joined the ACC? Was it such a matter of gravitas that fans chanting the name of not the damn team, but instead their conference was a regular social occurrence? Did ESPN and other factions have a clear hard-on for other conferences and a clear anti-ACC agenda at that time? Was the monetary payout and distribution as unequal regarding conferences as it is now?Bruh the ACC was a basketball conference when FSU joined it. There is no “we no longer align” angle because you snubbed the SEC specifically because you knew you could run through the ACC and set yourself up for National Championships.
