Man, you’re a smart dude but you’re either being incredibly naive or are just ignorant on this matter as a byproduct of some misguided FSU disdain. The Jordan Travis injury was a convenient excuse to keep FSU out of the CFP in lieu of a SEC team. ESPN was maneuvering for this shyt before JT was even injured. They told us exactly what was going to happen beforehand, but then tried to make it about one player after the fact. There’s also this moving target shyt people do with FSU. Michigan’s offense the last three weeks was WORSE than FSU’s with their starting QB, but nobody was clamoring for them to be left out. Apparently, only FSU’s close wins matter. One of the one hand, you have people hailing a UT win over Alabama in week two, but on their other hand, you have the same people exclaiming Alabama is a “new” team now, so why is that Alabama win so valued then? They aren’t the same team anymore, right? So, we can discount that win some by UT who lost to a middling Oklahoma team, right? Which also played Rice and Kansas State close. Oh, it’s because they beat up on Oklahoma State. Gotcha, the same team fukking UCF beat up on worse a week before.

The point is, all the criteria they used is super subjective and you have objective measures in place already to evaluate teams. Additionally, no one KNOWS what football team is better until they actually play on the field. For instance, dikkhead Herbstreit for all his posturing and peacocking is the worst “picker” on College Gameday. Yet, he’s been talking about this shyt like he’s some kind of authority on who would win. FSU would’ve gave a team that just lines up and tries to run the ball on you (like Michigan) fukking FITS. We also have the best pass defense in the country. They would’ve struggled mightily to move the ball on our defense. That CFP this is just one thing.

The bigger matter is that the ACC in totality is not a serious football conference, and FSU is primarily a football school, athletically. We no longer align with the majority of the conference in terms of sensibilities and expected remuneration. You even have the head of the CFP calling the ACC as “supposed P5.” At this time, the ACC does not benefit FSU athletucally, so we’re leaving. Period. The GT’s (no shade), SMU’s, CALs, Wake Forrests of the world can stay in the ACC. It’s where they belong.
When you get blown out by Georgia, then what you'll say :usure:

I've acknowledged that many times on here. 100% agree

The fact that they already had an out built in their bylaws already told me what time it was.

I don't disagree with you at all :ld:

This is all ESPN. But the point is you signed the deal. And all they will do next season is say they "got it right" since now the 4 Power 4 conferences all have automatic spots for their conference champ.

End of the day, you all can leave, but you gonna have to cut the check. And your boosters know this too so they reaching to try and get out without paying.
And that's not going to happen. Even all this talk about ESPN having an out in 2027 is comedy because they know they have a sweet deal. They aren't gonna back out of that shyt.

So either suck it up or cut the check. It's a like a nikka signing an 8 album 360 deal and wanna get out after 3 albums. It was dumb to sign a deal for that long, but they did it to keep the conference together. shyt, we were already talking to the Big 10 before that crazy deal got signed. I get it, but those da breaks.

Half our damn team has opted out and isn’t playing: Verse, Coleman, Benson, et al., no one cares about the damn Orange Bowl besides people who want to use it for some kinda wack ass litmus. The reality is we shouldn't even be playing in this game.

Question for you: how come Alabama looking mid in several games against teams like USF or needing a miracle against Auburn is never held against them? What miracles did FSU need?

I’d love to beat Georgia, though. shyt would be hilarious to beat the supposed best team with our second string. 😂

The ACC as we know it dies if FSU is successful because that opens the door for every other ACC school to challenge the rule. It’s a huge domino effect

I guess since I don't have an attachment to the acc schools I'm cool with just having the major schools in like 3 conferences and call it a day. Non elite schools should drop to fbs

ESPN has a clear outright SEC bias. The fact they have an ESPN deal with the SEC and ACC but are heavily biased towards one conference is pathetic.

And yes, we do know that if it was Bama in your situation with the QB and all, that they still would've gotten in despite the bylaw rule about losing a game changing player.

Yall got done dirty, but you know that they are going to use this potential blowout to justify their scandalous decision

Our previous president was shortsighted. He didn't anticipate the changing landscape for what it was. We really should’ve been trying to leave when Maryland left. With that being said, I bet the exit fee will get negotiated down to a more manageable number. The ACC has never done FSU any favors, but I don’t foresee them wanting to go through discovery and once shyt goes to trial—you never really know what the outcome will be. A ruling in FSU’s favor essentially ends the conference, and I don’t think the ACC will risk that.

Don't know what to tell ya but that's why you don't sign long term shyts without any sort of out. They literally said they used the Big 12 Grant Of Rights agreement as the basis for the one the school president's signed. Only difference is the Big 12s wasn't for over 2 decades. And Texas and OU not challenging it (schools with significantly more bread than FSU), should tell you all you need to know. :yeshrug:

ESPN will not want to reopen the SEC deal either. Member schools wouldn't want their dilute their cut by adding FSU.

Same for the Big 10 as both Washington and Oregon even had to take less.

Don't know what to tell ya, but yall gon have to pay to leave if you really that pressed. But you'd end up losing money and making less in revenue than you get now with a change to either the SEC or Big 10 with full shares since the ACC and the remainder schools wants their money. This whole trying to dissolve the conference is even more comical as you'd need 9 schools to vote for it. That surely ain't happening.

Good luck.

Florida State has been acting like it's the premier institution in the ACC

They will get steamrolled in the B10 or SEC

Bobby Bowden is no longer on the sidelines...if they need a history lesson, they should go back and see why he didn't want FSU to be in the SEC in the first place :beli:
The crazy thing about this is I'd violate you in real life.
