No you don't gotta hope that. The reality is the voting population gets dumber and dumber and goes further into tribalism with every election cycle. How else can you explain them electing Donald Trump president, having him try to end democracy in this country, and he's currently either tied or a thread in the next presidential election polls? Politics is like sports to people now. They don't care if the ref makes a fair call or nor just as long as it goes for the team they're rooting for. Things have long since stopped being about right or wrong or what's best for the country.
