So DeSantis is going to have FOX News automatically on his side as soon as he announces. That is a big thing in his favor and against Trump considering the influence FOX News has on Republican primary voters.

One major difference is the lack of a viable alternative. Ted Cruz was trumps biggest competitor and no one likes him, not even his own family lmao.

The thing that is hard to figure out is what percentage of the primary voters are full on, like you said, almost religiously motivated by trump vs they just really like/love him, desperately want him to be the nominee but if not they’ll be “convinced” to vote for the nominee. I wonder to what extent the medias portrayal of the first group makes it seem like the first group is larger than the reality.
