HUGE win. Like I said, all he’s doing is bringing up an issue knowing idiots are going to take the bait. Then he does nothing and lets the idiots and the media give him millions in free media/advertising. Making him seem to be the clear front runner and the “reasonable” face of the GOP, which attracts both moderate voters and the billionaire funders. Then just like with Disney, once the other group backs down or compromises in ANY way, he gets the victory. Which then attracts trump voters bc he’s then “showed” he can beat the _________ mob (insert bogeyman of the day).
People need to realize that trump ALMOST WON even after killing people by sabotaging the nations covid response, lying every second, busting it open for the Russians, giving away nations secrets any chance he gets, admitting to sexual assault, fukking porn stars while married, being friendly with pedophiles, mobsters, cheating on his taxes etc etc.
Biden won PENNSYLVANIA, a modern Democratic stronghold and his birthplace and source of his political identity, by only 80,000 votes. Michigan by only 150K votes out of 5 million plus total. Georgia was a 12K vote difference but Kemp just beat Abrams by 300,000 votes. Arizona by only 10K votes. Dems just won governors race there by only 17K votes but it was against a trumpanzee. Wisconsin only 20K votes. Finally don’t forget that trump INCREASED his percentage of Black/Hispanic voters. DeSantis would probably do even better. I tried to tell someone in here that a lot of Black voters don’t care about CRT/the “WOKE ACT” because the framing is DeSantis vs the “educational system.” The same system that many Black folks has failed their kids. It’s why you see higher level of support for charters among Black voters. Same with this AP class “controversy.” The framing is now in place that he rejected it bc of the “queer theory.” That’s not going to change. It’s too late. A lot of black voters are privately sensitive about other groups using the Black struggle to advance their own interests. Not to mention that Black voters are typically slightly more socially conservative.
Trump won somewhere around 12% of the black vote in 2020, and appx 8% in 2016. That number will rise to at least 15%. DeSantis is not stupid enough to pull a 2020 trump - getting mfers like lil Wayne to shout him out, or producing a “plan” for Black voters a week before the election. Even if he has no intention of implementing it, he’s going to come up with some reasonable sounding proposal that will intrigue ppl who never trusted trump.
If people don’t smarten up, dude is going to ride this strategy all the way to a landslide victory.

Absolutely those mfers “want” to be trump in the sense you mentioned. The no apologies lifestyle etc. And yes, DeSantis presents a more boring personality. But think about it from this perspective. One of the reasons trump lost in 2020 and why his candidates lost in midterms is bc that “no apologies” stance, while it won him redneck votes, lost all of the “moderate/suburban” traditionally GOP votes. All of the big name “never trumpers” will vote for DeSantis precisely bc he’s considered boring. All that extra shyt trump brought to the table is what they hated NOT his policies.
What have you seen that makes you think republicans who maybe abandoned trump wouldn’t vote for DeSantis?
Also many of the redneck types will gravitate to him because he’s seen as a “winner.” He “beat” Disney. He “beat” the “woke establishment.” He “beat” the media by ignoring them and winning re-election against a household name with “moderate” credentials by TWENTY PERCENTAGE POINTS. The “doesn’t give a fukk” is much more important to these people then the “rich and gets bytches.” And at the end of the day if it comes down to “vote DeSantis and we win” vs “don’t vote and allow Dems to win again” they will choose the former.
Yes Florida is now definitely a red state. But it’s never been red by 20 points.

Edit: forgot to add that there were a lot of true evangelical types that 1) never voted for trump bc they couldn’t reconcile their beliefs with his hedonistic lifestyle or 2) voted for him in 2016 bc “Hillary is evil” but didn’t in 2020 bc Biden isn’t as odious or bc hated what trump became or 3) voted for trump in 2016 and 2020 without regrets bc of what gave them BUT know he simply cannot win anymore (Franklin graham types).

They and even trumpanzees are really going to fall in love when they find out he has two Ivy League degrees but clearly tries very hard to somewhat hide that fact. He’s going to go on and on about how he “worked with seal team 1 to make sure they weren’t hamstrung” by the woke generals and DC establishment. Whether it makes sense or is even true will not even matter.

That’s a given. But nothing in recent history gives me hope they’re going to learn how to within a year. Also the makeup of the new congress will make that very difficult going forward. Making DeSantis too dangerous for moderates and exacerbating the trump/DeSantis rivalry seems to me the only viable path.
