Also, another question that hasn't really been brought up yet:

Who built the dampener to suppress Nora's powers? Iris isn't a scientist so somebody else must've built it for her sometime in the 2020s.

Cisco? Harry? Some other version of Wells we haven't met yet? Caitlin? Thawne? Somebody else was in on it.

I would say future cisco

The thing is we don't know one way or the other. Future-Iris could have been perfectly justified in removing Nora's powers. She could also be a horrible, abusive mother. We don't know.

What makes Barry and Iris look bad is trying to justify a situation they have no information about despite seeing how much it hurts Nora. Their logic is "Well present Iris wouldn't do that without a good reason, so future Iris was right." But they don't know what kind of person Iris is after having Nora and losing Barry. That talk was more about alleviating Iris' guilt than helping Nora.

remember this is the same Iris that tried to turn Emo/Savatar Barry back to good... as much as a person defines their future in the present .. once they know that future all decisions made to prevent said future actually causes it.. they more they tried to push Barry in season 3 it made things worse and only drove him to being savatar.

I do think its Thawne but I would love if it Savatar..
Although he didn't kill Iris like he thought, he still found a way to exist by using Nora.

Matt's Inside Line: Scoop on This Is Us, The Flash, Blindspot, Manifest, Outlander, NCIS, Supernatural and More

Turns out Joe has been sitting down because Jesse Martin injured his back. He'll be taking medical leave soon.

thanks .. we finally got confirmation.
But if its that serious where he been sitting for WEEKS and needs a leave.. 1) hope he gets well fast 2) please don't kill him off 3) don't leave Cecil ...40 maybe he goes with Wally....

Maybe Joe, Cecil and the baby take a trip to visit Cecil's other daughter that they seem to have forgotten about.

Following weeks of speculation, TV Line and Entertainment Weekly have both separately confirmed that Jesse L. Martin, who plays Detective Joe West, will be taking a medical leave of absence from the series within the next few weeks. In their official statement, The CW said, “Jesse Martin is taking a medical leave of absence from The Flash. We wish him a full and speedy recovery and look forward to his return as Detective Joe West.”

According to TV Line's sources, Martin suffered a pretty major back injury over the summer hiatus, limiting his mobility, which explains why almost all of his scenes this season have featured him in a sitting position. It also explains why he's spent the vast majority of his time at home, save for a brief appearance at the precinct last night, and why he hasn't taken a particularly active role in Team Flash's hunt for Cicada (Chris Klein).

Martin's absence will be addressed on the series in the coming weeks, but details on his temporary exit are being kept under wraps for now. A timetable on his return has also not been given, but considering the nature of his injury, it seems that he may end up missing a good chunk of the season, which has eighteen episodes left to air.
