Exactly....there's TOO MUCH good music being released right now...I got a bunch of albums saved on Spotify and downloaded on my computer that I have yet to listen to

I get put up on the majority of stuff I listen to from threads on here, Spotify Radio, related artists on Spotify, Nahright and Twitter...Spotify alone should have you eating good...On Twitter you gotta follow the right people to get put up on the good shyt

OP if you wanna listen to some good shyt check out that HS87 Album, Iamsu "Sincerely Yours" and Freddie Gibbs "The Tonite Show"

I hate to complain cuz it sounds so bad but it's too much above average music. I literally wake up every day to a bunch of new music.

What I do is

Check out Datpiff see if anyone has a bunch of downloads or streams(if even the numbers are funny someone had to pay more than the usual amount of money to rig them and to me I take it as someone having something worth checking out-could be stupid thinking but it's how I filter out what to check for)

Then I'll usually go to Atrilli.net and see if anything new has been released or leaked that day. Then I'll go over to DJBooth sometimes there's some stuff on there. Then I'll check out the download section of RapGodFathers cause they have leaks before anyone else but the download links are complete shyt. Then I'll go to NewJams and see if there's any singles I missed. If I have the time and am willing I'll also check out sites like 2dopeboyz, LiveMixtapes, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, UGHH, and AudioMack. If I'm being desperate like that for new music or music from this era that I have missed I'll go through list from 2013 and see if I missed anything from last year. Another good way is to just look through threads on here The Coli and give random songs a chance then see if the artist has a mixtape out. Another thing to is you can use Spotify radio for free and find new shyt on there. In the past I've gone to Wikipedia and looked up shyt like albums released in 2014. Read through the list and see if there's anything I like. If it's a drought I'll go back to classics I've missed or explore classics in genres of music I don't fukk with. When an album or tape is worth a look 9 out 10 times it will get a thread on here.

If you're not someone that likes this era much I can get why it's so hard to settle for projects that just don't meet up to the classics or even how you can't fukk with music that people are calling good today. I just accept that a lot of times not everything is going to be the best and sometimes shyt is just good not great. Another thing that I've had to learn is how to really appreciate a project and not let it bore me after a month. This year has been kind of weak so far.

I have to agree with the op. The internet platforms such as youtube and let's say datpiff allows anyone, and I mean anyone, to put their music out there. Only a handful of these acts actually have talent. A lot of the topics these artists talk about have been beaten to death (guns, jewelry, hoes, streets, blocks, clothes, drugs, etc.). It sounds like a lot of these cats want to make a quick buck in this thirsty ass rap game. And the beats, don't have me get started on them shytty ass low budget video game synthesized crap beats that all sound the same to me. This is a def low to an art form and genre of music that I used to like so much.

Also, after halfway giving up on hip hop, I turned to battling leagues and other indie forums such as teambackpack. Them shyts get me through this drought of shytty music.
