Your not wrong but the story is still in the game. They just dont force feed you u gotta do hunts , side missions , collect extra royal arms and sleep to level and u see hella cut scenes and u can do all that before the end. But again i feel you a thousand because they ahould of made each royal arm mandatory because the clockmark tower should be played by all. It gives u a healthy respect for the game.
But For some reason I blame call of duty. That once blessed game has turn trash and there greedy business strategy is felt throughout the gaming universe. Now we have mandatory dlc in everything...fukk...

good/bad story is for everyone to decide on their own. I've played FF7,8,9,10,11,14,15.. nikka said not a fan of the franchise. FF11 i played for like 8 years lol..
I am having fun with this it's just the side quest that are annoying
the game is clearly a project that was scrapped together and rushed. It's all this evidence pointing to it. There's always room for improvement it's not like the combat/story CAN'T be improved. Hell, they can do that with an expansion pack/DLC but it shouldn't have needed all that.

The game could have been longer but it's still a full game. Obviously it's nowhere near the original vision was but still. Many projects see compromises before they reach the market. The game was still acceptable to me at least but I honestly wish they would have taken the time to flesh things out more.
It's just a problem that these companies show off these games so early into development now. Had Versus XIII never been shown until it was closer to reality people would have never known about all the issues it faced and XV would have been better accepted.

A speed run is not a normal playthrough of the main story. The point of a speed run is to get through the game as fast as possible even going as far a using glitches and other flaws discovered in the game to assist in that. A normal playthrough is you doing all the regular things required to complete the game. A normal playthrough of just the story content in this game skipping most side content is a bit over 20 hours. For example in XIII it's probably closer to 45-50 hours to do a normal playthorugh.
The reason a normal playthrough is so short in XV is the story is very much condensed. from chapter 9 to 14 except 13 the chapters are probably 30 mins to an hour each if that.
