This review is pretty positive. I mostly agree. He has all the same gripes, but end of the day he really enjoyed the game. I'll prolly replay after all the patches just to see what changes and what they flesh out.

Any game that is incomplete is a flop. No matter how much you defend the game and call anyone who calls out the game overracting.

No game should be released that tells its customers that a month from now or a year from now they will release story cutscenes and fix chapter 13 of a game. So that means people who bought the game day one have to wait months or a year to complete a game they got a year ago. There is no amount of fanboying you can do to defend this fact. Suck an asian dikk if you disagree.

I respect his opinion. I watch his videos to keep up with FF14. This guy makes videos mainly of FF games and his reviews are pretty good.

I like XIII better because I don't value freedom over storytelling in a game. I don't really mind linearity in a game. I'm not an explorer in JRPGs. I also like the battle system and strategy to it far better. My main problems with the game were:
  1. half of it was a tutorial for a battle system that wasn't too complex in the first place.
  2. The antagonist is very dull.
  3. The world felt inconsequential overall.
  4. The side characters are almost irrelevant because the game focuses on the main cast too much and doesn't develop them.

So when you look at people's biggest gripes with the game hallways and linearity those don't bother me.

My main problems with XV are:
  1. while I feel that the core plot is good but the game doesn't do much storytelling at all. It rushes through the story as if it's an after thought. Many events happen off screen.
  2. Characters like Luna the game desperately wants you to care about are barely in the game.
  3. Many of the antagonists of the game are barely in the game.
  4. In the battle system 2 of the 3 AI characters are almost useless. Gladdy usually was helpful but Ignis and Prompto spend much of the game on the ground with no HP and I didn't bother to revive them.
  5. You can't implement a proper battle strategy because there aren't any commands in the game for that.
  6. Magic isn't worth bothering with because of collateral damage to allies. You don't really need it anyway.
  7. The antagonist is very underdeveloped in-game when it comes to backstory. I learned more about him online than in-game
  8. The world felt inconsequential overall. Most of it is bare roads or unseeable / unexplorable.
  9. The side characters are almost irrelevant because the game focuses on the main cast too much and doesn't develop them.
  10. The game is padded with side content and the main story doesn't fill out the proper expected length of a game of this caliber. I think the actual main story is 20-25 hours.
  11. As you play through the game you can just tell that much of the original plan of it was cut. It feels very much like a compromise to reach a deadline

When you say you like 13 better because of storytelling.

Bro that was the worst story ever, no logic, nothing made sense and all the characters were terrible.

At least in this game I understood what was going on for the most part, was about traditional Final Fantasy shyt like summons and they somehow managed to make this corny boy band squad likable.

Breh I really want to know the answers to this. HOW is it humanly possible to like the story and cast of 13?

I preferred this over 13. But this game definitely has some issues that may have been helped if they had more time but I understand that they had to put something out at this point.

I killed one of thos big ass monsters that be drinking in the water. Bodied it about 3 times. If you want to finish that hunt and quest that involves getting its brisket finish it off with fire or lightning otherwise you have to fight it multiple times till you get a drop

Jesus you suck at this game.

I stayed using my characters.

Prompto for crowd control
Gladius for big damage against one particular foe
Ignis to buff damage against targets weakness.

You literally can finesse the entire battle.

Attack a group till you set off promptos black hole and when all the enemies are together b0mb them with magic. Nah bruh, you not playin right. I want my battles over with asap.

Side quests are fun because of gameplay. Not seeing how you don't enjoy the battle options in this game

Your trophies still ain't synct up nikka. Stop lying. You barely touched this game. Probably share played

How can you say this gameplay is amazing. you literally just indiscriminately press attack and use potions when necessary.
Because when you get good and learn how to control the entire battlefield, magic happens. Starting off attacking on the ground, going into arial, switching weapons on the way down, finish with warp strike then use magic in mid air :banderas:

You just buy 99 potions and pray for the best. I think you were already feeling salty playing the game and purposely made a decision to not have fun and master the gameplay.

Whats your gamertag i think its time to check some receipts.

You haven't done 20 side quests.

If you done one of those fetch quests ypuve dome them all. Stop fronting
Nope. They lead to fighting new unique enemies and more ancestor swords for noctis. Also need to dungeon areas you otherwise would miss. Also lead you to parts of the world youd miss

If you seen one enemy you seen um all

If you seen one dungeon you seen um all
If you got one more unique item you got um all.

If you seen one part of the map you seen it all

Not true.

Just stop bruh. You played casually and are whining about your casual experience. You barely did side quests which are fun and lead to unique experiences. You threw potions at combat because you didn't want to take the time to learn how to finesse this epic gameplay. You rushed it. I'm sorry
