its an episodic release. they'll put out parts of FF7, not a complete game

and going by how they couldn't even maintain FF15's gameplan, I'd keep expectations extra low

I also think this game looks really, really underwhelming considering the time its spent cooking and what they've shown so far.

Your forgetting one thing.

Disc 1 of the remake will release sometime next year.

Disc 2 will be released 2022.

And disc 3 will be released at the PS9 Launch.

That's one game split across 3 disc because those disc couldn't hold all the data. This remake is episodic. It's not likely to be released all at once.

The games seem like they'll be pretty big if they're true to their words:

“With regards to the current HD capacity and volume, the idea is that we wouldn’t be able to encompass it all in just one installment. So, if we’re just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game.”

So even being extremely conservative, 28 hours of content is what one could expect from at least one of the parts. Plus they said they will expand Midgar and other parts so this will probably be a remake that follows the original story with some changes here and there.

Think they're telling us the release date in June and episode 1 is out Q4 this year or Q1 next.
