Just finished this on PC. Haven't played Intergrade or whatever. Is the story going to make sense if I play through Rebirth?

Intergrade is fun and like 3-5 hours you should just play it. Storywise it only gives you some character background
Yuffie is a damn cheat code once you figure her mechanics out.
Intermission is ill and it helps out a very specific part of Rebirth, plus it deepens the lore AND redeems certain characters from the worst FFVII Compilation game.
Rebirth mostly follows the storyline in FF7. Only the beginning and end of Rebirth have new stuff but its mostly gimmicky to make the story more convoluted. Also, they fukked around and watered down Tifa's Sephiroth attack...
Only the first game had actual major story changes but in the 2nd game they dialed back mostly ignoring or retconning shyt.
i popped in intermission to play it before rebirth but that shyt was so boring i cut it off. i cant believe i gave this game such high reviews it is not inuitive to get back into.

I stalled on the main game years ago but I guess it's time to force myself to finish so I can play the sequel.
Just had to fight a house (wtf) and it was rough. I just don’t get this battle system. It’s half real time half turn based and drives me crazy. I’m getting damaged in real time but I’m having to use turns I save up to heal myself. Seems like this should just go full blown Tales of series and be entirely real time.
When one of my party members goes down and I use an item to revive them a good portion of the time they go right back down because I can’t heal their health to full before they get hit again.
