I saw the SECDEF memo today. Certain COCOMs are exempt from the budget cuts. INDOPACOM is exempt so I'm fairly happy. But CENTCOM EUCOM and SOUTHCOM are gonna get hit. Honestly CENTCOM is very bloated still
I really shoulda paid more attention to all the project 2025 doom n gloom. Everything she said is spot on and happening .

Federal Unions should've pushed to get rid of those probationary rules years ago. Not sure why they would stand pat after watching thousands of Federal contractors get fired. Three Democrat Presidents and nobody thought to ask for better labor protections.
The added gut punch of all these firings is it’s serving as a smokescreen for the almost certain govt shutdown
This is going to be brutal. In a normal situation both sides are motivated to get people working again bc they don’t want to loose constituents.
With this administration, they’ve broken politics. Bc all politics since the dawn of man has assumed 1 thing: that people aren’t COMPLETE amoral blithering idiots. And dikkriding ones at that. That assumption is no longer valid.
So it’s all come to a head. They watched how trump being prosecuted for crimes he committed in 4k…made people turn on the prosecutors. They saw how the world applauded Luigi, how they mocked the titanic divers, etc. So they know that the masses are just as devoid of decency and sense as them, so they no longer have to worry about backlash over human beings being without a job and losing their homes. No one fukking cares. Go watch Elon’s Twitter. It’s a crash course in agent provocateur. He hardly ever says anything of substance. People just fall in line bc he’s rich and they want to feel like they’re going against the grain. So they’ll flip the shutdown as “draining the swamp” and everyday people who are far more like govt workers than they are billionaires——will side with the billionaires.
So this could go on for far longer than people realize.

I have a cousin, I don't know what agency she's with, but she said she was 7 years short of qualifying for the buyout. I guess that means she have 23 years in, even though I thought she had more. Of course she's very concerned as well. Just this summer, I was telling her to stay to 62 if she could, and get that 1.1 multiplier. I told her too, that it would be a 10% raise for the rest of her life. But I also told her, if it got too crazy in her work place, then to get out of there. I remembered towards the end of my job, they had me so worried that I was beginning to have brain and heart spasms. Anyway, at the time, I thought my cousin had 30 years in, but didn't have the age.
She never saw this coming, not this soon anyway. She just got a promotion, and I think it was a GS 14. But right now, it's the people on probation, who are the easy targets. The people who are vested in their careers, like you and her, are way more protected.

I’m so disgusted with everything that’s going on. I’m disgusted by our elected officials and the response to this by the American people. How Trump has a positive approval rating right now is beyond me. When the economy goes completely into the tank, people will act surprised. When they can’t get shyt at the grocery store, people will act surprised.

I’m a PACOM contractor. Glad to hear this news.
Our contract literally just got signed last week. Getting my CAC now. I think we are good. Doesn’t make sense to cut a contract that is getting us to the future.
It’s a 5 year but 1+1+1…. Trump can technically get rid of us. We are keeping “eyes” on our “adversaries” out here so we should be good. Plus we are replacing a legacy program.

You have people out here talking about, "The gravy train is over". That's code for saying all those days of Black people in the DMV, with good government jobs, with all that job protection, are over. In reality, there never was no gravy train. When I was there, half the people were going over to the private sector, to make 3 or 4 times their government salary. People thought I was crazy for staying. And acts of retaliation against government workers, by placing them on a bogus Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) because they complained, or went to EEO, especially about racism, didn't start with Project 2025...ask me how I know. Gravy train?

But the Democrats should not bail out the Republicans for their own mess. Dems need to get a deal where Trump and Vought stop impounding funds!
