I go from being ok to being scared as fukk, mostly being ok. I learned years ago not to stress over things I can't control. If I'm going to get fired theres nothing I can do about it

As of right now I don't know any friends or family who've been fired. That's keeping my spirits up

I'm more concerned for my coworker who is fresh in the government. Her probationary period ends the first week of April. I hope she makes it

Musk was in our building last week :pacspit:

This goes to show Americans are some soft fakkits. You mean to tell me Musk was able to waltz into a building where he’s upending the lives of countless people in said building and not a single hand was laid on him? :what:

How long, generally, is the probationary period?
It varies depending on the agency. When I worked as a Federal contractor you could be fired at anytime for any reason. You had zero recourse to do anything about it. If a Federal employee didn't like you they could just have you removed from the contract.

What to know about the federal workforce under Trump

What happens during a federal employee’s probation period?

Federal employees have varying probationary periods, often a year or two, when they carry out tasks under a supervisor, who evaluates whether the worker is doing the job successfully. If not, workers can be dismissed; if so, they are brought on as full-time employees with protections.

Employees on probation don’t have the same appeal rights — it’s an easier process to dismiss them.

It's not "poor performance," that's what the pro-Trump camp is running with, Elon has also thrown this out there and has Twitter running with it.

Some of these people have had superb evaluations over the last several years, so it can't be "poor performance."

In order to evaluate, document, and determine "poor performance" you need audits and supervisors, these bozos ain't doing on damn audits.

In fact, there's no one qualified in DOGE to do any of the things they're doing.

This administration is doing nothing but adding to the unemployment numbers, this admin is already failing three weeks in.

Oh I know. They have to say something and thats the most viable option
