100% agreed. These are some of the least likable characters on Netflix imo. The depth of their relationship is really they’re lgbtq so we’re supposed to root for them
yeah. if they were a "traditional" couple it would have sucked just as much, b/c there was zero chemistry. the possessed girl was especially boring. block of wood.

Absolutely no chemistry at all. The whole cast honestly. Her boyfriend got clapped and she didn’t give a damn. The black brother’s girlfriend got her head turned into ground meat and it was ho hum. The main protagonist lost 2 of her best friends and didn’t give a single fukk. Those characters were all just props for murder porn imo

I know very little about witches and whatnot, but "witches" were quite often just women who still had paganic rituals and whatnot and christianity was not cool with that obviously. Not saying that they didn't dabble in demonic shyt, but I'm not sure all "witches" did all that stuff. They were "tolerated" in some areas with people knowing where to find them as kind of a last resort to use old herbs etc, and obviously everything that had to do with women such as abortion and such. I think a male witch is a sorcerer, but as men they could more easily retain a normal life (men with knowledge and power were not suspect) while continnuing their other stuff underground (precisely what Goode does). If movies and series are anything to go by, you'll see that witches are often on the outskirts in squalid conditions while men who dabble with the occult are often living withing the village/town and have some other "regular" position of power

they really bogged this trilogy down with one of the least compelling couples in movie history. the 2nd movie is the best one b/c it didn't have the lead actress, her boring ass girlfriend, her doofy brother who looked nothing like her, and Brita who seriously gets more bland every time i see her.

The 1666 stuff was really awful too. They dropped all the levity and tried to remake The Witch with terrible accents.

People keep saying this. How are Puritans supposed to sound? I’m sure all the whites would’ve sounded like mixture of English-Scots-Irish. And that’s what they sounded like in this movie. If you Google how Old English sounds on YouTube it’s extremely close to their accents.

not really looking for those levels of authenticity while watching a movie about supernatural slashers. it sounds dumb, don't even bother.

I actually liked the 3rd movie the most out of the trilogy :yeshrug:

Partly because Deena was more likeable in the past embodying the witch :skip:. Plus I found the origin of Sarah and the town more compelling than some of the other stuff in the first 2. I do agree the chemistry between the 2 main girls wasn't hitting like that, for them to give short shrift to some of the other students.

Anybody else think Deena sorta looked like Eliza Dushku's little sister :ohhh:

Couple more things

Little brother trying to give his sister the Konami code for protection :mjlol:

The whole Good is Evil name flip :troll:

Deena's deadbeat dad being MIA the whole trilogy :mjlol:

Reading thru the comments on IGN:

“these movies were trash, why does IGN keep covering them?”

“probably because the villain is a white man that hates lgbt and minorities, you know they eat that shyt up these days.”

:mjlol:

Dope trilogy tho, very YA vibe but still good slasher flick. That gotdamn baby with the bat was the most creepy. Wish we could’ve seen more of him.

The best one was the 2nd one for the reasons @Conz mentioned.

I felt they were doing too much with 3. I zoned out during the whole mall super soaker part. shyt seemed way too elaborate and risky of a plan.

I really enjoyed all three of these, and I think it concluded well

I'll probably rewatch the second one the most, but I don't know if that's because I'm feeling Emily Rudd :whew:
