Brehs just count your calories and work out 3 times a week

If that's too hard do keto and work out 3 times a week

Stay consistent and prosper

I think people are trying to deflect from the points that I'm making.
How would pointing out that there exists periods of time between regular meals have anything to do with this discussion?

Guys in here are talking about the willing forgoing of meals for extended periods of time. I'm saying that doing so causes stress and possible damage to your body (unnecessarily)

My G I've been doing IF for over 2 years...and it was never starving. 16 and 8 or sometimes I change up and go longer.

Only after 72 hours or longer of pure fast with no food just water is where you have to initiate nutrients back into the body to counteract damage. But fasting is good to cleanse the body...period.

Above the fray.
YOU used the word starvation. You don’t help your argument when you have to change a word within your own post to help your argument.

Food and the resulting energy is often stored so so you are rarely deprived of nutrients/energy. Your entire argument and perspective is skewed on a false pretense that IF deprives the body of nutrients which it doesn’t do. 2000 calories of food in 8 hours or 2000 calories of food in 16 hours is virtually the same without outside mitigating factors or goals.
Again with deflections.
At what point does "starvation" start? 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days?

====
Those mitigating factors you are omitting are the amount of calories required for your body to function AND to perform normal everyday activities.

Consume 3X calories on Monday, start fast at midnight and then try to perform your daily tasks for Tuesday and Wednesday.
You are saying that as far my body concerned, it's the same as consuming X amount of calories on Mond,Tues, and Wed.
I disagree. Body would have an easier time adapting to fewer calories consumed day by day then to abruptly NONE.

I’m not deflecting. These are literally your words and lack of understanding.

Further the original post and majority or post are describing intermittent fasting which varies but is usually done over a 16 hour period. So please stop trying to use three days as what anyone was truly using as benchmark in this thread.

"3 days" was mentioned by another member in post #31 of this thread as a hypothetical case. The same poster said that he practiced "IF" in the past. I know how arguments work often here, so not expecting you to walk back your last sentence.

Like I said the ORIGINAL post referred to IF as did the majority of follow-up responses, thus you only being able to site post #31 which is well after your response. So this means:

  • You replied to the original post with a response that was not applicable to the subject of the thread
  • You don’t truly understand the normal application of IF and what 98% of what the thread is using as the topic
Either way you lose :manny:

Carry on........

The (inevitable) smilie. Outside of my first post, my posts here are quoting and responding to people who quoted me. Those are the posts that I've read when I get the "alert" signal........while reading other threads.

Knew that you'd duck acknowledging that I read, quoted, and responded to a post here that mentioned 3 days. Instead of "manning up" you used a "manny ramirez" smilie.

At any rate, glad that "IF" has helped and worked out for so many people here. I will continue to advise relatives to not do it,though. An overweight person might have condition or health problem that they aren't even aware of. Shocking the systems of the body by depriving them of food can only compound the problems.

It’s not a one size fits all solution. If it works for you, do it. If not, then don’t. For me, having to only prepare food once in the evening and eating after a highly productive fasted state workout is just more convenient. I don’t feel hungry during the day because work keeps me busy :yeshrug:

I’m not ducking you original post said “fasting is not healthy” without quoting anyone referring to three days. So again either you bounded in the thread off topic or didn’t know what IF means.

As far as now trying to move the goal post about overweight that’s fine as well but just additional proof that your argument as relative to the premise of the thread is not correct.

Jumping rope is one of the best total body workouts you can do.. I do mine at home and take it to work too (night shift, alone). Started with a speed rope and now I've moved up to the heavy ropes. Went all in on these
