$4 fun passes, $1 pizza slices; you must be talking about some other place.
Sidenote: My favorite pizza place in Manhattan still charges a dollar per slice. Not sure about fun pass prices though.

well this is what I was getting at earlier. at $15/hr, they'd be making more than some college graduates. I bet you they'd be all over those jobs if they couldn't find something in their field of study that paid more.

personally, I'm not about doing damn near any job if they about payin me that bread.
Those companies that don't pay as much would have to adjust or they would lose employees. Competition is a good thing, right? I mean, you don't want these companies to be able to pay whatever the hell they want because they don't have to fear losing their employees to other opportunities. They'd have to raise their employee wages.

The higher the wages are in these jobs, the closer we are to the battle of the employed vs unemployed. The 'NWO' will raise wages in jobs like these to make it more and more competitive just to be employed. Lets fi unemployment first.

Some were sideways implying that prices won't go up if minimum wage stays the same.

I'm just a concerned United States citizen

Oh, I'm a little foggy from last night still.

I think that if you look at recent history you'll see that prices decrease on goods rather than increase when minimum wage stays the same, it's economics.

this is what blows me. I. aid it in TLR, but if they raise the wage to at least $15/hr, then more educated and skilled people will start applying for those jobs, thus taking them away from the non-skilled workers which would put them in a worse position than they are currently in now.

15 an hour still aint nothing to try to live on. You would still be poor. If a college grad is making that then they need to do better.

its liveable. especially if you live with a roomate/girlfriend/spouse making the same amount or more.
yea 15 an hour with no kids, or if its you and a roommate, you can live very good off that.... well at least down in NC. Lets do the math that's 600 a week before taxes 31200 a year. IF you can get 40 hours a week. But lets say you can only get 30 hours a week. 450 a week 23400 a year. Get a roommate, or live with your significant other that's 62400 or 46800 between the two of you. You can eat and live fukking great off that. If you cant something is seriously wrong.

Lets be serious, some of these CEO bonuses need to be slashed. Some posters in here think that CEOs are gods that cannot be questioned or touched while the workers and the consumers suffer with everything. In a time where fast food and Walmart are the nations largest employers, its sad that people don't want to see the standard of living to increase.

This simple economics more money in the hands of the poor= less of them on welfare = more spending = economic boom that helps the rest of us as well

So simple, yet so hard for many to understand.

30k a year is not doing well. After taxes that's just getting by. Even if your single and match the criteria above. And most people do have families they have to take care of on top of that. You can't save anything at that salary, you cant put away for retirement, have an emergency fund etc.. That's not doing pretty well. That's bottom of the barrel which is why it make sense to set that as the minimum wage full time working people should be earning in this country.

That's not living great. You can survive yes. But one hospital bill, car accident, or layoff and your in a mountain of debt you will never get out of.

Not that I disagree, but from a economic standpoint how sustainable would this be if hypothetically everyone at taco bell makes $15/hr...
C/s
How do you think you deserve 15hr for a job that's takes one day of training for you to be replaced lol. They get paid 7.25 because they have no leverage. These workers going to end up like them MLB umpires years back.

Here's an idea. If you don't have the money to support a family don't start one..
