Dave Chapelle the type of comedian where even if you don't "ha ha" laugh at his stand up, you can still leave the venue like homie had some real spit.

Exactly. I actually don't find Richard Pryor funny at all, but he's a good story teller and I'll listen to him talk. There are a lot of comedians like that. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but Dave is definitely funny. I can't tell you whether faizon is or not. All I know from him are the roles he plays. Unfortunately we see that doesn't translate all the time. IE Mike Epps. I just have to bring him up every time the talk of trash comedians comes up. He's easily the WOAT.

Dave aint gawd to me like he is to alot of these other comedians,maybe it would take a comedian to see things he does i just dont see.....Chris Rock talks about him like he's a gawd amongst men though,and i be thinkin "Chris,you was waaaaay funnier than that nikka,and arguably still funnier now".....in no way should Chapelle be put in that Eddie stratosphere,but somehow he's made his way up there off Chapelle show.

I know he was on there before, thats just a single example. Most people didn't see his Def Jam set until youtube. Compare that to guys like Bernie Mac, Martin and Chris Tucker who became household names off of Def Jam.

Dave Chappelle is a comedic genius. But the black comedy scene was popping in the 90's and Dave Chappelle was not a major part of it. Proven by the fact that he didn't appear in many if any black movies or TV shows (like a million other black comedians did). And other than a short cameo by Tracy Morgan he didn't have any black comedians in Half Baked either. The comedy scene is very segregated. Dave was doing movies with Norm McDonald and Tom Hanks...

People say that about Jerrod Carmichael but I don't get it. I love that dudes sitcom and I'm still mad it's getting cancelled, but he kinda wack at standup to me.
