People say that about Jerrod Carmichael but I don't get it. I love that dudes sitcom and I'm still mad it's getting cancelled, but he kinda wack at standup to me. I'm not one of those "you just don't get it" guys. I just judge you off of if you're funny to me or not. I do prefer my comedians to just tell jokes over the ones who scream and run around the stage all day but that's just me.

i liked his sitcom too but agree,he's one of the ones I'm talking about, and that Hannibul Burress dude too,its another one I cant think of right now.....not comparing Chapelle to them because he's actually funny as hell.....but I think its alot of these dudes trying to be on that "I'm more than one of those Def Comedy Jam Comics:damn:".....alot of those def jam comedians was funnier than yall nikkas and smarter,i dont like that black comedians being animated is looked down on as "cheap".....actually makes some of them greater comedic geniuses:banderas:

I still rank Martin higher than alot of nikkas simply based on the subtle and blaytant physical comedy he did on his show,i still catch shyt til this day:laff:.

and a guy like Chapelle actually gets off alot due to his voice and being animated too,and his goofy look in general....i think proof should be he aint been the same since he came back sounding like he was smoking too many cigs, and his delivery aint what it used to be.....and he too swole to make the same body movements he used to:mjlol:.

i agree theres try hards who try to rely soley on that though.

I saw his stand up special last month. I think his material is great but his delivery isn't. He's funny I just assume he's better at comedy writing then stand up ala Larry David.

Everything he said about Chapelle is how i feel about kevin hart

"Seriously Funny", was a cult hit in the urban/black market before he became mainstream. Kevin Hart was cosigned by blacks first, doing Paper Soldiers and Soul Plane. It's true and Aaron Spears said the same thing, Dave Chappelle was cosigned by whites first, then blacks jumped on board with help from the Chappelle Show which incorporated hip hop in it.

these are the type of nikkas e who put Chapelle on a pedestal:martin:....nikkas who wanna feel smarter then everybody else and pretend "Not everybody gets it:mjpls:"...just understand, yall responsible for most of the unfunny nikkas we got today.

I'm I lying tho? Play one of Dave specials for a group of average people and they will laugh at the most silly parts but quickly switch to staring back at their phones when Dave is referencing history to make an unsuspecting punchline. It's not for average people, you will need to be aware of current events, politics, racial topics etc

Now play the same group Kevin hart special about him running around naked hollering "noooooooooooo" and watch them laugh like a dying donkey.

Chappelle was on Def Comedy Jam back in the day. Black people knew of Chappelle before the show. And whites weren't fukkin with Chappelle show until that that Rick James shyt. They only fukked with the truly silly shyt like Rick James and the Lil Jon shyt anyways. And most whites still didn't even get the racial social commentary type of stuff.

I think it is for average people, what makes Chapelle and Rock good is the fact they have a way of breaking everything down so simple for the average person....I dont think most people are as stupid as you thinking, and are you saying nikkas aint fukk with "Killing Them Softly"? its already been proven that black people fukk with Chapelle and Chris Rock heavy,if they not connecting on certain jokes maybe it just aint they best work.

maybe you can say this about other comics, but not Dave....plus sometimes Dave dont even be telling jokes, and people get made if you not laughing. Nice observation Dave, but i cant knock nobody for not laughing at some of Daves random thoughts. and black people would have no trouble understanding racial topics breh. Even caucasians are able to understand it because they are so good at breaking it down.

im sure those "too smart" comedians exist, but Chapelle aint one of em imo,if they do exist they probaly bad at they job though.

I'm highly pissed I just saw George Carlin's name in the same sentence with Chris Farley
It's a guy who resembles him to a t with a British accent.

You can tell Farley was a influence.

I can't recall his name.
