I should add that E1b1ba is a predominant haplogroup among African Americans as well. So they too are related to the Ancient Egyptians!

You argued against the notion Egyptians were black only a few days ago. Don't act brand new now.

No it's not you goofy. Setnakhte is of unknown origin i.e in terms of royal lineage so that in reality doesnt prove a thing because his son Ramses III is also of unknown origin. Just like Ramses I, another individual in ancient Egyptian history, who was a military officer and later on general, who made his way to become King after a short career of being vizier. Speaking of genetics, it has been proven that majority of pharaohs, the ones with royal lineage that is, who reigned during the New Kingdom , have a genetic marker that could be traced to Tjuyu or in English Thuya, hence the name of that marker being the Thuya gene. This woman is the grandmother of Akhenaten and great grandmother of Tutankhamun and she is the descendant of queen Ahmose-Nefertari and King Ahmose I. Its estimated that 60-65 % of Somalis carry this genetic marker today. Followed by modern day Egyptians at 40% (Beja, Bisharin tribe). This genetic marker is said to have originated in east Africa and we all know that the early dynastic period was established by people from the Horn of Africa. The rulers of the old kingdom, first intermediate period and middle kingdom were direct descendants of these people. The first voyage and exodus to Punt was made during the old kingdom during the 5th dynasty. The tradition was re-assumed later on during the middle kingdom and New Kindom under Hatchepsut.

E1b1b(a) is very rare in the Beja and the like tribes. E1b1(a) is not found in East African horners in general. You are talking about E1b1(b), which is not the same as E1b1(a). DNATribes did an analysis for East African Horner genes in Ramses and Tut, and didn't find any substantial match with any populations but the Central Africans, West Africans, Nilotic and Southern Africans. Hence the Egyptian pharaohs were prototypically black African and related to African Americans hence.

This is something I've never understood. If the Ancient Egyptians were Black why do current Egyptians look the way they do? Did Egyptians at some point just cease to be Black?

This is something I never understood. If ancient Americans were Native American why do Americans look European. Did Native Americans just cease to be red?

If you took the time out to read the thread you would see people already answered my question. I was legit just trying to get some knowledge on this topic and got all kinds of emotional responses :upsetfavre:

There is no academic genetic similarity between Somalis and Ancient Egyptian.
Somali are 50% or more Eurasian in study and the Ancient Egyptian are virtually all black DNA.

The Ancestors of the AE were Nilo-Saharan like people. NOT Somali as genetic lineages associated with Somalis did not even exist yet.

The AE were a mix of AA speakers but those AA speakers were NOT cushyte but more similar to Chadic and even Berber.

This is where we agree to disagree here in regards to Nilo Saharan people. Please answer this question,

1. If Nilosaharan people were the first or the originators of "Nile Valley civilization, why is the Asiasiatic language the oldest written language in the region? If the Nilosharan people were once dominant, then logically it is fare to reason they would had create the first writing system in the "nile valley".

However this is the first form of writing in what is now Egypt and North Sudan.

Interesting write up about Kerma from good old wikipedia.

Language[edit]
According to Peter Behrens (1981) and Marianne Bechaus-Gerst (2000), linguistic evidence indicates that the Kerma peoples spoke Afro-Asiatic languages of the Cushytic branch.[12][13] The Nilo-Saharan Nobiin language today contains a number of key pastoralism related loanwords that are of proto-Highland East Cushytic origin, including the terms for sheep/goatskin, hen/cock, livestock enclosure, butter and milk. This in turn suggests that the Kerma population — which, along with the C-Group Culture, inhabited the Nile Valley immediately before the arrival of the first Nubian speakers — spoke Afro-Asiatic languages.[12]

I understand among scholars it is a contested issue, in regards to the language families of certain groups during that period.
