Lmaooooo When liberals say it, their "black friend" is almost always gay, a black chick upset she got called a roach in third-grade or someone who had zero black friends until college.
The security guard for our building was a young black dude (found out my ex-girlfriend was actually his like teacher's assistant or something in a class in high school, lol) and one day around lunch he and I were just talking about random shyt. This white chick who worked on a different floor comes in and while she's waiting for the elevator, all of a sudden starts talking to us like this...
...'cause she's excited for the weekend, as her friends and she are driving to Vegas to see Migos. Y'all know how white folks do the "ROCK ON DUDE" hand sign, but with their hands in front of their chest, pointed at an angle? That's exactly what she did, with her right leg raised in the air for some reason, when she told us, "...and I'm PUMPED!"
Brehs, I'm so glad the elevator arrived for her then, 'cause five seconds later dude and I were fukking on the floor crying laughing.
But yeah, I mean, "culture fit" is tough. I got along better with my Japanese co-workers than white American ones. I get why companies want it, though... It's not really all the way nefarious, it's mostly their way of keeping you thinking about work 24/7. If your work environment is "culturally-compatible" for you, you'll want to spend most of your time around your co-workers and at work.
Most everyone I know of who wasn't black's main "friend group" were their co-workers. They do everything with each other. After work, dinner together. Weekend events together.
"Hey sosayeth, wanna come to X with us this weekend?"
*three days later*
"Oh my bad, I ain't even see this until today."
People like me are who they're trying to not hire. Lol
I also remember silently pissing a bunch of people off when I wanted to listen to gospel music one day and decided to do so in the space where we could do that without headphones.
I'm not even Christian.
But, I grew up in church like most black kids in my age group and gospel music from my era still goes. So many people were aggy af at me that day, but fukk it, I was in a Christ-like mood jammning out Fred Hammond, Mahlia Jackson, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, James Cleveland, etc. etc.
