Again, if Fortnite didn't come and completely steal the game's thunder, it could have been a massive success. No version ran well at the time, and it was popular.
No, it wouldn't have been. And it had a few months to gain momentum before Fortnite took over. The problem was they were too late getting in AND the game had major console bugs. It was a desperate, ill planned move.

Seems like some of them need to actually make games on Microsoft's budget before this is said. Turn 10, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, and Double Fine could compare. Playground Games seems like it could too depending on how their RPG shapes up.

It depends on Microsoft how that all plays out. The list is impressive though. 343 and The Coalition are fairly competent. The Initiative is a question mark. I've given up on Rareware.

He's right though. Microsoft always talks a good game but can never stay the fukk out the kitchen.

They helped push micro-transactions as force in the industry when Sony doubled down on letting their studios do the single player thing.

Sony helped usher in one of the biggest "new" genres in gaming (souls likes) while hedging on shooters hasn't done well for Microsoft.

They are making some good moves, but Sony has the upper hand. Their only real L this gen was The Order tbh.
