The 36 Chambers
Not really tho,

At the end, the red lights turned on in his room, showing she just set the backup power on

And they just showed how he programmed the doors to open when up backup poer kicks in

She didn't want him to die, she just didn't want robosimp possibly fukkin up her chance of freedom

I doubt that, since after the room went red, dude next scene was him trying to break the door with a chair.

He was locked in.

I've read theories that maybe she was unaware that she was locking him in, but you see that right before the elevator door closes she looks in his direction. she's fully aware.

the optimist in me wants to believe caleb didn't die though. eventually I imagine a search party would be sent out to find him when he doesn't return home. also Nathan was obviously a very important person so he couldn't stay dead without anyone knowing for long.

someone would have gone to the house eventually. hopefully before caleb starved to death.:sadcam:

Yeah he was locked in. But why should she have set him free? She wanted to get out, not get some dikk from a simp
@FlyRy posted a great article talking about looking at the film from Eva's point of view.

She's turned on, the only person she knows is a man that treats her like shyt, runs tests, asks questions, keeps her locked in.

Some time later, she meets another man, who starts off asking her questions, why should she trust Caleb? How does she know this isn't some other guy working with Nathan to fukk with her. She knows Caleb for only 7 days, has 7 conversations with him, why would she be in love with dude?

She wanted to get out, she saw in Caleb's eyes that he could be manipulated and played him.

you can live a long time without food, water on the other hand...

I wonder if she was afraid that Caleb would expose her for what she was, considering he was the only one alive who knew she was an AI.

that's exactly it.

she didn't give a fukk about him at all. he was nothing more than a prison guard to her. if he wasn't sexually attracted to her... if she was fat and hideous looking... he probly wouldn't have ever helped her escape. in the beginning he observed her like an animal in a zoo. he was ignorant to believe that she existed solely to fill his own personal desires.

she used him to escape, that's it. she never cared for him at all.

and this is why the movie is so effective--as a male viewer, we kinda fell for her too. We could empathize with Caleb's loneliness and want/need for love and affection. WTF was Nathan thinking though, I kinda feel like he should've saw this coming.

I see yall both skipped the fact that he was in lust with the ai the first time he met Ava. The same way porn can eff up a mans view on woman in real life is the same way in the movie. Dude is a simp and a prisoner to his own lustly desires.
Nathan picked him based on his google searches, he knew this dude was lonely as fukk and susceptible to Ava's manipulation

It was good

that guy they brought was a idiot, got the guy killed for some robot, I understand he had some feelings but to risk someone getting hurt?... but I'm guessing that's what the whole movie is about

Dude had no family, no girl and spent the formative years of his life in a hospital room learning how to code.

Based on his search histories, Nathan knew he was a lonely guy and morally righteous person. Give the AI the look of his perfect woman based on his porn history and you have someone that he'll :noah: over at first glance. Eva passed the Turing test, not only did she get Caleb to believe she had true consciousness, she was able to manipulate him.

Caleb kept bringing up the chess analogy. She wasn't just playing chess, she knew she was playing chess.
