Fantastic thread, and I couldn’t agree more with any of this. Don’t have time to add a bunch right now, but i will add a small thing. How do you continue to pump out merchandise for people who don’t even have characters? This company is solely about the brand but not the wrestlers themselves. They’ll bring you up to the main roster and slap some hastily made shirt together, with a logo that doesn’t make sense and some catchphrase that has nothing to do with anything, just some buzzword garbage that Coach and Michael Cole will repeat throughout a show.

Great thread, OP. I fukking hate the WWE. How do you have so much talent and yet, have the company be the worst it has ever been in its existence?
The logic behind "they make money so they don't have to try," is dumb logic to me.
This company brings the most fukkery I have ever seen, when it comes to insulting fans/customers.

The other day on twitter someone told Road Dogg that Asuka vs Becky Lynch needs to happen at Summerslam. His response was, "why does everything have to happen right now?" :scust: That shyt pissed me off. nikka said that like the company actually gives us what we want. Besides AJ Styles being WWE champion, nothing on their main shows is even remotely close to what we want.

- No Universal title defenses
-Braun was at his hottest but they cooled him off
- Seth is on fire but hes feuding with Ziggler
- After 5 years of Flop they are still forcing Roman down even more
- Alexa and Carmella are champions yet they claim its a womans revolution while avoiding all must see feuds/ also treating the best talent like shyt
- having obsessions with nikkas like big cass and baron corbin
- obviously dont care about tag division

I can't stand these nikkas, man. They are evil af for no god damn reason. I haven't watched RAW in over a month but I read the news.
They really had lashley and Roman vs Rival 3 weeks in a row.

Vince just doesn't care anymore....

And the worst thing of all they will rewrite history in documentaries as if we cant just go back and watch shyt
On top of all that, road dog has had the nerve to tell fans online who voice legit complaints and criticism of the problems the show has that if they don’t like it, just change the channel. Telling the paying customer to fukk off is generally not a good business model.

This thread didn't disappoint. Five stars. :salute:

I've been watching for ten years now and this is definitely the worst the product's ever been to me. Now that I'm old enough to recognize every problem this company has, and just how much these problems pop up, I can't enjoy it the same way anymore.

There's no reason why I should watch RAW or SmackDown hoping for at least one segment to be entertaining, or enjoy the first half of WrestleMania only to be pissed off by the second half. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if months from now, I start blocking out this year's WrestleMania from my memory.

I know a lot of people don't really like the WWE in the late 2000s, but I don't remember it being as ridiculous as it is now. They were still capable of booking competently at that point. Things still mattered from week to week, there were still actual stakes. If this was 2008, Sasha and Bayley would be in the middle of a months-long feud by now, not going to counseling in painful comedy segments. I start to wonder who they're writing for, and I realize it's for casual fans. It's for people who barely watch wrestling and don't really understand it. It can't be for hardcore fans because they haven't written for hardcore fans in more than a decade. It can't be for kids because kids aren't as stupid as the WWE thinks. When I started watching, the company still had excitement and intensity. I still remember that promo Edge gave right before Backlash in 2009 where he talked about how much the World Heavyweight Championship drives him. Those moments don't exist anymore.

It used to be a wrestling-oriented show. Now it's a TGIF sitcom that just so happens to have wrestling in it. :francis:

But I still haven't been turned off completely. It's a sickness. :mjcry:

The modern day casual fan is almost non-existent. Hardcore fans are the only ones consistently supporting the WWE which is supported by the major decline in ratings over the years. WWE had a chance to attract jaded casual fans back to the current product in the Raw 25th Anniversary show but they dropped the ball with another subpar show.

Man, I can't believe I forgot to mention these stupid marathon shows they keep running that are like 6 hours long for the major PPVs. They get upset the fans are leaving/don't respond during the main event. Do they really wonder why? :why:
And the ass kissing sheep don't help either. The corporate shills and the WWE bubble

Only time I get hype about wrestling is when I watch some random match on NJPW

WWE Cult - "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T WATCH IT:damn:"

Random wrestling fan"......Okay:troll:"

WWE Cult ":mjcry:"

Don't miss it at all :blessed: Thank TSC for the results...I usually watch reviewers on YouTube but even they're phoning it in, I just listen to Bryan and Vinny bury attitude era RAW and Nitro every week, it's more entertaining :yeshrug:

Roman is in a weird spot. He's somehow pushing a lot of merchandise, but that could also be a result of him having the most merchandise to sell. He's a good wrestler that's getting blindly hated on because he was getting pushed instead of Daniel Bryan a few years back. I'd rather have Roman be champion than an MIA Brock Lesnar running the same match over and over. They can "fix" Roman by just having him out of the title picture. He's a guy that doesn't need the title to be over in the first place, and I don't know why they can't just realize that.

I agree. Velveteen Dream has been steady picking up momentum in NXT, but he hasn't really "won" any of the major feuds he's been in. They're teetering on a risky point to where they can make him into a huge superstar or turn him into the next Bray Wyatt or Dolph Ziggler, jobber to the mid-upper card. I know he's still young, but it's hard to shake that loser image. He needs to start winning these matches and feuds at some point to take him seriously.

I honestly don't know how the WWE stock has picked up like it has over the last six months. It must be FOX throwing money at Smackdown and Vince going back after the XFL. The public image of the NFL has exponentially decreased, so maybe all these billionaire conservative cacs are hitching their wagons to Cokeboy. I hope it fails again though
Roman can’t be fixed. Do some people hate him because he got pushed over DB ? Yes. The hate started RR when Rock ran in gave him the win and held his hand up, that was the turning point. The guy has shown no growth. That stupid vest and combat boots look is dated. He has zero charisma. People hate on Alexa, Charlotte and others but let’s be real , they have it. They can be on talk shows and engage the viewers. What show has Roman been on?
The other problem is the roster is bloated , not everyone is roster ready or ever will be.
Nia title rein was disgusting.
Ty needs to be In NXT and that’s not a knock on him, he doesn’t have it now but could make it.
No way Jose isn’t roster ready.
Big Cass should never been in any major role, to be honest Enzo did carry him, Cass is trash.
Some people need managers.AOP need Titus.
Alicia Fox should be a trainer in NXT.
Look at Sheamus and Cesaro, they don’t have a thing for them yet. They should have helped DB and started a feud with BBrothers. Not Kane.
DB should be feuding with Almas before The Miz.

Somebody brought up a good point, Braun only won MITB so they could use that dumb "Monster In The Bank" moniker :mjlol:.

Pretty much this. But when I think about how they book shows now and how they treat their pay-per-views, it really feels like they're trying to cater to people who are just looking for something to watch when they're bored. It's not for anyone that has any investment in what wrestling is or should be. It's for a person that can tune in any given week and see a match for the first time. If they're entertained, they'll come back next week and get more of the same. It's like watching those old TGIF sitcoms because while the actors aged, the characters never developed much, especially the adults. The only problem is for us, it's like being stuck in a time warp because we've seen this exact same match and situation 900 times over the past six months.

Someone here pointed out that back then, Stone Cold would be in a certain feud in February, but by November, he would be doing something completely different and have different goals. That kind of storytelling is poison for whoever they're writing for, people who like the cookie cutter approach that the company has been taking for the majority of the decade. And it seems to work because not only are they richer now than ever before, they have officially shut down the voices of the hardcore fans by treating them like creeps and weirdos. The thought of making any changes to how they write has them shook to death, and the product reflects that.

Regarding Part Timers:

I won't lie, the one timer/part timer thing was cool at first, well I wasn't feeling Taker and Triple H becoming part timers but the point remains.

The Rock coming back in any capacity was something special, same as Sting because for the most part, it was a one time thing and they weren't bringing down the quality of the show like a Brock Lesnar post-Suplex City debut and Goldberg's Universal Title run. This has to come to a hault if WWE wants to build for the future because one day Triple H, Taker, Brock, Rock, and Cena won't be able to wrestle.

Regarding the Women's Division:

I've been warning people for over a year that this is where the Women's Division was headed, the problem is, as long as Steph keeps instructing the Women to spew the "Women's Evolution" bullshyt then most fans won't be able to wake up and realize what's going on. I feel like a lot of what's going on is the fault of Vince and Dunn though, they just have this one image of what a Women's Champ should be when the rest of the wrestling world have moved past that and want to see women like Asuka, Kairi, Ember, Sasha, Becky, and Bayley as women champions. WWE's mindset is that the champs should be blonde. I hope this flaw in the Women's Division becomes magnified.

for some time now I've wondered what WWE's biggest problem beyond the typical "bad booking" & "poor leadership" and I just think WWE (and wrestling) are outdated. I keep thinking maybe wrestling can't be a good TV show while also being a good live show, that you got to choose one or the other. The best TV shows now run for about 10 to 12/13 weeks and take a whole year off to create new storylines, characters as well as progress what is already going on. WWE never takes time off and often just has to go with what works on that day with no concern for anything long-term & that makes for bad Television. But with Vince's supposed quote of "it's not supposed to be good" my guess he is fine with that as long as money keeps coming in.

I want to watch and join in with TSC, but I cant even get thru 10 minutes of RAW. It so bad and unwatchable. I can't fukk with it.:francis:

SD is boring as hell too.

WM been shyt too for the last 4 years.:hhh:

Boxing and MMA has been delivering better melodrama and more storylines than pro wrestling this year :wow:

Right now, we got:
  • DC gunning for the HW belt
  • The rise of Max Holloway
  • The State vs Conor McGregor
  • Will Nick Diaz avoid jail time or come back to fight to pay for those legal bills?
  • Anthony Joshua bytching out against Deontay Wilder
  • The rise of the Charlos and Errol Spence Jr
  • When will someone beat Demetrius Johnson?
  • Battle of the Washed this fall with Tito Ortiz vs Chuck Liddell and Rampage vs Wanderlei
  • How will a roid-free Canelo look against GGG?
  • Bellator finally needing to book good cards because they got a big bag from DAZN
  • USADA aiding and abetting a roided-up Jon Jones and presumably letting him return to competition this year:wow:
