Oh well that was a detailed explanation. Great.Im out in the country, so no that shyt would not work
Wait. You are seriously in favor of driving on the LIE?Well it won’t work. On Long Island they took a whole lot of bus service away. Getting to my job by bus is a 2.5 hour commute including a 2 mile walk, vs a 25 minute drive.
So waste 4 hours a day, walk, and sit on a bus with loud smelly people, or drive in a peaceful, leather appointed environment? That’s an easy decision
It's not either or. Having a great public transit system doesn't mean cars are outlawed. Just means less traffic. Less buses on the road, If you still want to drive maybe it goes from 25 minutes to 18.Well it won’t work. On Long Island they took a whole lot of bus service away. Most cities and sprawling and built for cars …
It can only work in some places
So we still driving then? Interesting. I just don't see how bikes fixes a lot of actual pertinent concerns people have about this. As some people have said, a lot of places in the US and life in general make the idea of biking hard to implement.Ride share cars exist.
Rent a car.
You can’t even rent trucks from Home Depot for like $30.
And you get to save thousands of dollars a year in gas, car insurance and car note payments.
Hooray!
Some people live far away from actual markets due to work and such. I doubt suddenly riding bikes would fix that issue.wouldn't need to if it was easy and cheap to make a quick jaunt to market for something.
On the few occasions when it’s necessary, sure.So we still driving then?
How would this work in a city like Houston?
But you're still asking people to rent and share and all that and a lot of people hate that. I hated that and none of my own money was funding that at one point. It's a noble cause so more power to you but I think you'll have a hard time convincing people of it overall. On the few occasions when it’s necessary, sure.
And guess what? Since it would be less often, when people do drive, there is less traffic!
Everyone wins.
Breh, this discussion isn't for people who live outside of cities. Nobody is arguing for a subway tunnel to be built under your farm. Some people live far away from actual markets due to work and such. I doubt suddenly riding bikes would fix that issue.
Yeah a rail system is possible anywhere but will it beat the convenience and time saved just driving yourself. America needs a culture change for mass public transportation to be a viable option.Houston got that dumbass light rail, that ran past 45. Engineers are paid to solved those problems. Thanks to lime and uber the last mile problem has been solved. I-10 expansion hasn’t done anything to alleviate traffic and it only got worse.
A rail system anywhere in the US is feasible the problem is lobbying groups.
