you don't need to split it, the jump was never the issue. whatever contracts they have moving forward, they just need to make the language around sideline reporting and being the game crew flexible, don't make it an exclusive assignment

You're still going to have an issue depending on who ends up getting the hosting gig as even a lot of the commenters right now feel that the gig should automatically go to Andrews even in spite of being the least tenured member of the ESPN NBA women. Even people on social media are clamoring for her to get the gig and you will likely have complaints if it goes to Hubbarth or someone else outside of her.

Nichols had obvious top billing of the current talent, so it was obvious as to who was going to lead the marquee NBA show.

Why would anyone take her on now though? Didn’t she already flop at CNN too?

Because people have a short term memory when it comes to ESPN dealings and controversy. That Maria Taylor/Rachel Nichols story was hot for a couple of weeks and potentially have forgotten about it. Even the media has barely talked about Maria Taylor since her departure and the Olympics. ESPN removing Nichols brought the story back to the forefront and people's attention.

She did flop at CNN though and came running back to ESPN. I could see her sitting out the remaining term of her ESPN contract and then seeing what's out there. Barstool would be a step down for her, so she's in a bind on her options right now.

Don't know if it was brought up in the other thread, but the original way the tape got out was because a black espn employee copied it off the server and GAVE it to other black employees. You are really skirting a legal line doing that. That woman put her job on the line to expose racist nichols, so YOU KNOW this bytch was doing or saying some wild shyt behind the scenes.
Even so, Rachel apology was tone deaf too. I bet now she wished she would have did an historic dig and this the Nick Cannon apology circuit
