No they should not, he obviously fulfils an important role there and he would be picked up immediately by other networks, That does not mean I always agree with his takes

They'll resign him but his shtick is getting old.

Even tho they added Shannon and the ratings supposedly went up, First Take is still not as good as it once was during the Cari Champion, Skip, and even throughout the Max Kellerman days.

Shannon being added hasn't done much for me largely in part of him only appearing two times a week. If Shannon was on Monday through Friday as he was on FS1 then it'd probably be better, and Doggy on Wednesdays is meh yet refreshing because he adds a change of pace.

Molly is ok but she interrupts and talks over them way too much.

Stephen A has gotten kinda boring and in some ways pretentiously arrogant on certain topics. I know it's a debate show but I think he believes only his opinion and perspective is what matters and catches an attitude anytime someone disagrees or points out his wrong/suspect info.

It's like most guests are afraid to challenge his opinion, info, or perspective on sports. That's why when Monica did what she did for a few weeks it was like a breath of fresh air cause SAS likes to hear himself talk.
If they did, all he’s going to do is shyt on them on his podcast where he can be unfiltered about it and not be beholden to ESPN like he did with Monica.

He does it every time someone or an entity calls him out for his comments.

Yall keep saying his shtick getting old, have you seen First Take’s numbers month over month? :pachaha:
Sports talk ratings outside of Undisputed have been going up for months now. It’s not just a FT thing.

His schtick is getting old outside of the sports world which is where his long term aspirations are.

He can’t take constructive criticism and is always using his platform to shyt on someone. The most sensitive sports figure or celebrity I can think of in recent memory.

Contract expires next year, but does ESPN even need him at this point?

- First Take is a well-oiled machine that will still be #1 in their timeslot regardless

- Shannon Sharpe isn't what he used to be on Undisputed because it might not be doable with SAS in there

- The show has decent to good guest panelists each week either way, and SAS is remote more than 50% of the time

- ESPN would save $12M+ a year in talent salary by not paying him

- He has a controversial take that he spews out confidently at first and then twists it or backs down from it the next day

- He decreases the quality of their NBA studio coverage, leaves before games end and the NBA criticism is growing more and more

- He's hardly an insider (makes claims that aren't substantiated all the time), isn't a journalist (despite what he says about his Philly Inquirer days 20+ years ago) and doesn't bring value to any other programming

- That "embrace debate' shyt is played and we're already seeing Skip Bayless fade out (thankfully)

ESPN needs to make an adjustment in their coverage overall, they need to promote new blood and the other good talent they have in-house and deciding to let SAS walk could be a good start to a new era, especially with all the new rights fees and ventures they're getting into.
Nah SAS runs this sports debate sht.

Shut the entire fukk up. There is nothing anti black about Stephen A. Our community always crying when someone says something we dont like. Out of all the black people representing the community in entertainment, SAS is the among the least troublesome. The fact you dunces don’t see that is more problematic than anything.
Talking to Mark Savage and his crowd benefits the Black community how?

It doesn’t . It benefits his c00n self.

Talking to Sean Hannith and his crowd benefits the Black community how?

It doesn’t . It benefits his c00n self.

Black moral posturing to white crowds keeps him paid.

Your trash ass thinks he’s good for the community using a sports show and a podcast. :mjlol:

As annoying as Stephen A is, keeping him contained to ESPN is probably for the greater good. The world really doesn't need the inevitable turn to politics and general culture that he seemingly wants.

They seem all in on SAS. Laid off a bunch of analysts not too long ago and he's one of the few big names left.

A lot of SAS endeavors outside of the sports world have flopped over the years, which should be noted.

SAS world on Disney+ was a flop and his podcast was a flop as well until he changed the name.

Anyone paying him bigger bread to make it outside of sports is asking for failure as the casual audience doesn't really care for him like that.

On KRS One's nose, eating sunflower seeds.

He should leave and expand his own brand. ESPN done ate off of him enough, he’s the voice everyone RESPONDS to, good or bad. He’s a miserable narcissist brother, but he’s smart and I would love for him to keep succeeding. I may not agree with him, but he’s a brother and the inevitable racism is gonna try to kill him, and I want him to prevail.
